Pavlik outboxes him most likely, no real size advantage or chin advantage for Chavez and Pavlik has better fundamentals and boxes at range.
Lots of fights for Jr at 168 to help him ease into the weight before fighting the divisions elite (Ward, Froch, Kessler) and Pavlik would be one of them. Not sure how I see that playing out, I can see cases being made for both.... would like to see it happen. I would probably favor Pavlik to win a decision. Would be a good fight to see though
I think Kessler would be the absolute worst style for Jr. Ward would give Jr concessions because he likes to stay close, Froch is too slow to really capitalize on Jr's clumsiness, but kessler's perfect range and rapid fire straight punches coupled with his KO power would very likely give Jr nightmare's about lacing the gloves up again after the beating commenced.

Pavlik was a better fighter when he was MW champ. That time has past and if the fight happens in two months I would slightly favor Chavez. Pavlik has looked really poor against flat out bad opposition and he would have his hands full against guys like Lee, Zbik, and Rubio. Close fight.
