    probably chavez jr. and then the hype will get out of hand... mayorga cant box to save his life and after a few KOs he doesnt have the only thing he had going for him and that was heart and a big chin..

    Wasn't King trying to maneuver Mayorga into place to challenge Sturm? What happened with that?

    Sturm's a much better look for Ricardo at this point. Lower risk and much higher reward if the belt's on the line.

    Of course, he could also knock out Chavez, but there wouldn't be as much to gain.

    the trash talk would be good because chavez speaks spanish, no need to soften up the blows with a translator.

    Even two years ago Mayorga would absolutely destroy him... today its iffy.. with the lay off and the damage he has taken you would have to think that Chavez wins this... would be brilliant match making on Chavez Jr's part... a big name who is now washed up

    Agreed. Mayorga at his best can stop young Chavez. Nowadays it'd be a great matchmaking risk/reward proposition. Winnable fight against an aged name.

    would love to see. chavez's reach should be the difference BUT hes never fought anyone like Mayorga, can you see him whip the entire country into a frenzy thru his trashtalk plus the wildness might throw jr off his game as well as have dude gettin in his head. big problem is mayorga been out wayyy too long.

    Haven't seen Mayorga since the Mosley fight, but if he fights like he did that night then JCC Jr. is going home in a box.

    If it's at middleweight, i don't like Mayorga chances. Maybe at 154 if he fights the same way vs Mosley.
