Earn more next time fighting who?, Martinez isn't young and only wants big money fights at this stage of his career. He's obviously having trouble finding good enough opponents and this shameless fraud is pricing his self out.

Martinez may not be a big draw but neither is Cabdriver Jr. and Martinez is the big name here and the undisputed champion. Jr. is nothing but a shameless paper champion.

If I was martinez I would take it. Let the fight go to a decision so that it looked a little close. Get a 50/50 split in the rematch and ko him

There's no bluff for Martinez to really call since this isn't a serious offer, just more PR from Beltran and Chavez Sr. Even if it was a serious offer, Martinez would have to give Chavez "one more fight" and wait until the end of the year, the same way the WBC has perpetually been giving him "one more fight."

Chavez jr. is the much bigger draw here, even if all he has fought is cabdrivers. Mexican fans are probably the largest fan base in boxing and will pay to watch the highly criticized Jr, win or lose. If Martinez wins, he has more leverage for a fight against lets say, Canelo. Martinez at that point will have much more leverage by previously beating a high profile fighter on PPV. Basically the same thing Floyd and any other fighter has had to do. Only this time, Chavez the A-side of the fight really does not deserve it.

What has Sergio Martinez done to deserve more than 30% of the purse, he brings nothing to the table from a promotional perspective.

Not to denigrate Martinez, but its Chavez Jr who's taking all the risk by fighting him. Chavez Jr. has more to loss than Martinez and I can see why he'd want to get paid handsomely if he doses take that risk.

What's interesting to me is the fact that Martinez is in his 30's and with a style like his where athleticism plays a key role he has about two or three more fights left in him. I wouldn't be surprised if Chavez beats a faded Martinez two years from now.

All of US HARDCORE Boxing fans Know who Sergio Martinez is, and knows a he a BAMF.

Father time and bad luck is why on the brink of his 40's he is now just getting known! Its a shame such a talented fighter never caught a break earlyer!
