Last Friday in the ESPN A Los Golpes radio show, Fernando Beltran said Chavez Jr will sign the fight for a 70/30 split, but the fight would take place in September. Sampson Lewkowicz [Martinez' adviser] responded on monday by saying he's living in a fantasy land because Beltran has no say over it and was just talking out of his ass. Bob Arum is the one who makes the decisions and he and Chavez Jr. want nothing to do with Martinez. Sampson goes on to talk about how Chavez Jr. doesn't even want to be in the same room with him. When Chavez Sr. entered the Hall of the Fame, his entire family showed up except for Jr because Martinez was there. In the WBC convention, Jr was there everyday except on the third day when it was publicly known that Martinez was going to be there. (Jr. actually showed up in the morning of that day, but was not seen after when Martinez was there.) Sampson then said that if Martinez isn't injured in the Macklin fight, he's willing to fight Jr in June 16th. He doesn't care about fighting Jr and just wants the belt back. He wants Chavez stripped if he doesn't fight Martinez in his next fight. Sampson responds with Martinez' own offer. He'll give up his entire purse (except for paying his team and other expenses) if Jr wins.

Same. Martinez know he can't get a great deal at this stage, and his time is running out, so he might as well get back his title while making a name for himself in defeating a big draw and securing those last big fights/paydays.

and who has JCCJ beat? Martinez deserves at least 45/55 due to the fact he knocked out Williams a bigger name then any of the fighters on JCC resume

Kinda feel sorry for Chavez Jr. He wants to live up to his dad's name but that would mean getting pounded by the #3 P4P fighter in the world.

Sergio won a close fight with a drunk Pavlik.
He beat a 154 fighter in Williams at 160, congrats.

He only fought 154 fighters blown up at 160, until he was shown how limited he really was against Barker, a euro bum, now he fights another euro bum who has no power and is coming off a ****ing loss.

All the while he had 160 opposition calling him out, like Pirog, Quinlin, an Golovkin and he ignores them so he can beg WW fighters like Manny and Floyd to fight for a payday, saying **** like he will go down to 152. He is embarassing.

Are u stupid? First off Mackin aint no bum and ppl with a f4cking brain knows Mackin clearly beat Sturm in his last fight but since it was in germany of course Sturm will get the decision win. And second off mackin is a better fighter then overrated Pirog who hasnt beat any real good middleweight. And Barker aint no bum either in which i bet Barker could beat guys like Pirog. But i guess you will ignored that Martinez ko bigger Barker?

And i'm tired with "Pavlik was drunk " bs. Before his fight with Martinez, Pavlik was saying he was training really hard for that fight in which he wont take Martinez lightly. And Pavlik also said he started drinking after the Taylor fight. <<<So it aint the first time Pavlik drinks before a fight. It's Pavlik's habit of drinking. And hell a drunk Pavlik would have ko Pirog.

Quillin was offered the fight before Barker. Quillin rejected it. Then he starts calling out Martinez when the Barker fight was already signed. He's full of ****. Golvokin has not been allowed to fight in the US do to contract issues until only recently this year. Pirog has been blacklisted on HBO, but that has possibly changed with Greenburg out.

Here's an idea. How about Quillin, Pirog, and Golovkin fight each other? Combine all their professional records and you'll find a total of 0 good wins. Martinez having wins over these guys is meaningless because of that.

Describing Macklin's last fight as simply a "loss" is dumb because most people thought he beat Sturm. And he's rated #3 by ESPN and Ring. The #1 and #2 guys (Sturm and Geale) have both rejected offers by martinez. And because he's Irish, they'll probably have a near sell out crowd at the theater in St. Patrick. Pirog and Golovkin fights would be in front of an empty ballroom. Who gives a **** if Martinez beats a couple guys who only hardcore boxing fans on the internet know about, especially if nobody watches it?
