BS excuse. He chose to fight at this weight, even Roach has tried convincing him to move up.

But what the **** is up with Martinez and all the hate towards Chavez? He just comes across as jealous to me.

Many people thought that Chavez Jr. will weight 180 pounds come fight night. Is that gonna help him to beat Martinez?

Can anyone tell me how? I mean can he be 100% ready over a night after his serious dehydration?

I thought he looked worse at this weigh-in than he did against Lee.

Need to have same day weigh ins again. At least a real 24 hour weigh in. If you weigh in at 3:30 PM and fight at 8:30 it's not a 24 hour period.

    his fans will too

this is too funny. a fighter, that's ACTUALLY making weight IN HIS DIVISION where he holds a belt, is considered weight drained? what's wrong with this picture?

Do you think Dawson's weight was a factor in his loss to Ward?

Dawson didn't reach for that excuse and I don't think Jr is any less man than Chad. However, weight looked to be a factor in Chad's loss and it may be a factor here whether trolls like it or not.

For my part I'll reserve judgement til after the fight.

Dawson was outside of his division and made a lower weight. Chavez is fighting at his weight. Is there an outcome which won't have controversy?

The belt that Chavez Jr has(the WBC Middleweight belt), is a belt that by all rights, should be Martinez's still. HBO, Top Rank, and the WBC basically conspired to put Martinez in position to have his belt stripped just so Chavez Jr could face an easy opponent to win it and up his cash cow status. The same opponent that HBO told Martinez would never be shown on their network is the guy they let Chavez Jr fight on their network only a few months later for Martinez's stripped belt. Martinez also was assured multiple times to no avail that he would get the fight with Chavez Jr and get the chance to take his belt back much sooner than this. The President of the WBC Jose Suliaman has personally put a belt on Chavez Jr to win this fight. Lastly, Chavez Jr has had the silver spoon of easy matches, a few questionable decisions go his way, basically had everything his own way his entire young career while Martinez came up the hard way. I'd say Martinez has some good reasons to be hating on Chavez Jr.
