Doubt it's true. Chavez is having some promotional issues and nothing will be confirmed until that is taken care of.
i don't mean to sound so negative but this might be a long way to go... if this is true, then props to chavez for a very huge step-up.
Chavez has been getting better and better but he will get KO´d. I still think he beats quite a few of the top 10 dogs but Martinez will be too much for him.
Props to Chavez? He has no choice and can't duck him any longer.I won't be surprised if he gives up his "title" to avoid this beat down.
This has been discussed over the past few days starting with Martinez claiming he won't fight unless he gets OSDT. Turns out to be a toothless publicity stunt since they are in negotiations and the WBC already has a purse bid scheduled for April 9 if they can't agree to terms. So basically, Martinez has NO leverage to make the demand and he has claimed everything else is agreed too. If he refuses the fight without the testing I think it will mean he never wanted the fight in the first place. As of yesterday, 'seen' it somewhere DiBella claims he had been on the phone with Arum and they had been negotiating no more than 10 minutes prior. All in the past few days threads. Nothing new here.
Doubt it will actually take place, although the WBC has threatened the party that wouldn't negotiate to be stripped of either their title (Chavez) or their #1 spot (Martinez). Wich of course only is a threat to Jr because Maravilla is the one chasing him. :yep
