Lets see you have a height and reach advantage over Martinez. And you barely use your jab.

Chavez needs to dump Roach. Who has no clue what a jab is.

If Chavez had an effective jab. Martinez would not have run away with the rounds the whole night.

Roach needs to dump Chavez. The schmohawk doesn't even show up for training.

    Definetly not Roach's fault.

you forget that a few years ago Chavez would've been expected to get knocked the **** out in 2 rounds by a guy like Martinez. Chavez has improved leaps and bounds from what he once was. If he was even in that ring against MArtinez, it's thanks to Roach

This is a better analysis of the main problem in that camp. The couple episodes of 24/7 I watched leading up to this fight showed Chavez with a very lax attitude when it comes to training.

    i agree.

and i don't know what everyone expected anyhow.

its also not roach's fault that khan doesnt react well to getting hit but whatever.

Im pretty sure Roach told him to throw punches out there. Jr. threw like 10 punches in the first two rounds.

Chavez did not have the ability to land the jab on someone as good as Martinez. Rewatch the use of Martinez's right hand and then you will see why Chavez did not throw many jabs.

Also, go look back to the Chavez-Lee bout, watch how Chavez just thinks he can impose his size on Lee without working his way in with shots.

You've heard of people falling in love with their power haven't you? Chavez has fallen in love with his size. He will come unstuck once again if he ever faces someone as good as Martinez again, or if/when he moves up in weight.

    Exactly.. Nor to anyone else..

He was doing a "Blah Blah" noise when Freddie was giving him advice in between a round.. Did anyone notice it?

Between 9th and 10th round.. What was Chavez shouting? Was he mocking Freddie?

If your suggesting that a jab won't work on Martinez. Go watch the Pavlik fight. Kelly's jab kept him in the fight. Macklin also gave Martinez fits by using the jab.

Horrible example. Lee is no where near as athletic as Martinez. Chavez didn't need to work his way way inside. Since Lee was right in front of him the whole night.
