Yey putting together what you have told me on ESB and going down Memory lane you are sounding real familiar. Did you ever bring up your dads buisness in East LA?

    Yes that was me..

we formed a syndicate and took on Don King's Closed Circuit business... we were the reason PPV took over in LA

all the Latino Bar Owners got together and we screwed king by refusing to get one of his cards he lost about one million dollars.

Top Rank was smarter and let us take over the closed circuit for Chavez De La Hoya... where did you watch the fight?

Yey he was super knowledgeable and well respected but he would not budge when you disagreed with him on one of his favorites, and we know he had alot of them.

He was also a typical old timer in that Old school guys were so much better than todays.

I remember thinking he might take Molina, but Molina whupped him pretty good, I remember debating with Johnny and he got me on that one he said Molina would be to big and would out box Goyo.

What did Goyo have to say?

He called him a "mierda" said that he had no pop.

He said that Floyd is an ass in the ring... but Goyo did fight dirty too

The funny thing is he said he fought Molina for the payday and did not train

Yeah that sounds right about his fight with Molina his punches seemed to lack steam in that fight, Vargas was a pretty big puncher in his prime. I remember Molina pretty much dominating that fight.

Well i think Mayweather was a good puncher at JL but Vargas had a great chin so i could see him saying that.

He said he had been hit harder in his sparring sessions...

he said nicer things about Kevin Kelly

amazing that he beat chong, hodkinson, patterson, narciso, tackie

His wins over Patterson and Hodkinson were very impressive, also Tackie was in his prime when he beat him.

    Who is Chong?

Ricky Quiles was another good win, Quiles was a pretty good JW before moving down to fight Vargas. Quiles fought a few times at the forum i remember he almost pulled the upset over a still good Vince phillips (fight was a draw)

Goyo and Luisito would have been a good fight Luisito was a better boxer but style wise i think he would take Luisitos best and eventually knock him out.
