Sergio(e)'s skill set is great for someone who started boxing at a relatively ancient age. He knows how to clinch well and surprisingly can infight, even beating the infighter inside in some spurts. Sexy Sergio(e) is almost as versatile as Floyd and Ward although nowhere near as polished.

There are standout formally schooled amateurs who can't even clinch and fight inside.

He can also throw basically any punch. His brilliant versatility is testament to the fact that he's more than just some guy who relies heavily on athleticism like emmanuel do and dedication to the game. People who wrongfully thought he's just some athleticism happy fighter were proven wrong tonight.

I loved how every time Chavez tried to get inside, Martinez was turning his body making it practically impossible to land a good body shot and then Martinez was digging his own left into Chavez's stomach.

Yea, he has been able to pick up on so much despite having less time than most guys. Very high ring iq.

There was a heavy headbutt as well when Martinez was tangled in the ropes, but Martinez was on unsteady legs. He proved he can take a big punch. Best MW today by a long stretch

Chavez didn't truly knock him down properly.
