You don't seem to realize how much water weight you can lose when cutting down to make weight. These fighters drink next to nothing for days to make weight. While they are doing this they are sweating out everything they can. I saw Miranda spitting in a trash can for 3 hours before the weigh in with Kelly Pavlik.

It is healthy in the long run? Hell no. However, if the can do it and rehydrate safely the size advantage they have fight night is significant. However size isn't everything (at least in boxing), asked Chad.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has often refused to step on a scale for an official unofficial fight night weight.... Just sayin'.

I kind of think you're making my point! Chad dropped an extra 7lbs! and he's performance level dropped significantly! He was outclassed (that level of domination may or may not happened @175). Chavez is obviously dropping way more than the 10% of weigh in legal limits and still having a consistent reasonable to high level of performance. How is that physiologically possible without a specially modified diuretic or as someone has just mentioned blood doping??

I agree that no person can do it without help.

But chavez weighed 158lbs @ weigh in. He refused to weigh in on fight night so we will never know his exact weight. But he was as big as ever if not bigger and his max fight night weight is in the 180's. So logically we are coming close to 30lbs. This is all guess work and speculation. But if you're not transparent people will ask questions

The mother****er uses PEDS, noone in here can deny that. His whole bull**** career was cheating his way to a middle title, and then retiring. I mean coming in 30lbs heavier, wtf. Please bring back the ****ing same day weigh-ins, cause someone is going to end up getting killed.

The WBC binned that rule for the time being. I'm sure it had nothing whatsoever to do with Sulaiman's godson fighting.

Chavez is a confirmed weight cheat. That size advantage is the only reason he even saw the 12th round last night. All this bull**** about his heart sickens me. Got utterly schooled by a much smaller, older man, and one knockdown late on doesn't mean he has heart, doesn't mean his performance was anything but **** and it doesn't mean he's anywhere close to elite level.

B Level fighter. Take away the weight advantage and he's literally a punchbag.

it didnt look like chavez had any problems with punch resistance or stamina last night.

he was the stronger man at the end.

I'm not a big fan of guys ballooning in weight so much between weigh in and fight. I suppose if your body can manage to get down in weight so much, fair enough, but it still seems a bit cheap when you see the size difference between SSM and Chavez. I can't really think of Jnr as a middle weight. He just seems like a LHW/CW fighting against middleweights

Martinez wasn't sitting down on his punches. If Chavez looked to be the fresher fighter at the end then it's only because Martinez was using his legs and throwing punches all night while Baby Chavez did nothing other than walk forward and catch punches.
