Incorrect. If Juniors mind was in Canelo's body , he would have torn into Floyd like a terrier. Canelo lost a wide decision boxing like a pussay.
Goosen confirmed he stopped the fight so Chavez didn't quit A rematch is needed at 170 with "I quit"stipulations.
His achievements so far surpass Junior's by a giant margin. And yes, he tried to outbox Floyd. If Canelo had fought like Maidana did, Floyd might have been in trouble.
I agree and imo the reason canelo try to outbox floyd because he wouldn't have the energy in the later rounds especially him has to lose 2 pounds.
Because Andy is no Fonfara. I know it's hard to give the man credit, but give it a try. Even Sr. admitted that this wasn't a joke opponent for a come-back fight.
if he'd done it right, like Maidana (and he was certainly capable), it's unlikely he would have needed the later rounds. On the other hand, Floyd may have made the necessary adjustments and not only survived, but prevailed. I would make Canelo the favourite in a rematch. At 154. This does not diminish the greatness of Floyd's victory over Canelo.
Chaves did have the ballz to come back after a long layoff and fight a genuine threat I will give him that but not many people on here will.
It wasn't his ballz. It was lack of brain. He is delusional about his abilities not realizing that he is a B or even B- level fighter. He still thinks that he was winning before he quit.
Chavez had an iron chin and pretty good power at 160. It is not so at 168 and especially at 172. At those weights, he is a mediocre head forward out of shape boxer.
Humbling experience for Chavez Jr. stopped fighting smaller guys and got exposed. He might be done he can't deal with guys at 175 and can't make 160. Top guys at 168 will give him that work to.
People say Chavez's defense is bad, but Fonfara's isn't the stuff of legends either. I will say Fonfara showed a good inside game, though.
