Chavez Sr. is basically saying that he can't hide it anymore, his son has no discipline, he is irresponsible and needs to retire before he gets hurt. Jr. also trains whenever he wants to train, he just left his training camp and he doesn't even want to follow his trainers' advices.

Yes, pretty much what most fans were saying all along.
He got a lot of chances and decisions he wouldn't have had if he had another name. Has to cut far too much weight because he's not diciplined and has done it with illegal methods, which they then needed to wipe under the carpet. And he's not talented enough to fight around his actual weightclass.

I was a big fan of Senior, and resent Junior. I doubt if he's actually the father. DNA test is in order here :bart

Yeah, Chavez Sr knows that Jr has lived off his name for far too long, using it as leverage to massively outweigh opponents.

Jr did show promice for a while. It was when he got together with Roach. He worked hard, was in great shape and put together a few decent performances.

That's a shame. Jr is a decent MW, mostly because of his size and the iron jaw he got from his father.

He hasn't made MW for 3½ years, and even then probably not in a legit way.

Most the time a tough solid boxer, coming from a gene pool of mentally tough iron chinned men, is usually attracted to females that don't belong to the small gene pool of excellent fighters.

Floyd Sr. made an Excellent autosomal copy of himself, because he was broke & stayed in his excellent gene pool. Chavez sr. went for the doughy Jorge Kahwagi/Sulaiman dynasty phenotype which helped Chavez Jr. get ultra thick skin to endure punches & a high ranking in the WBC, but he didn't have the complete fighting package his dad envisioned :think

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. started his son at 130 his favorite division at 17 (done with growth so no excuse to ballon up), JCC jr was supposed to start picking up titles at 130, but he always found a way to move up :smoke
