    never seen it...
but if it did happen it was probably lil floyd telling arum what to do in hopes to set up a fight with oscar where arum would've been able to cash in.....but when floyd paid 750k to run from margo, the truth came out and arum put money man on blast.....:deal

That's where the business part of the sport kicks in, you think Cotto's team will allow that fight to happen and ruin a possible great fighter too early?, definitely not, it's only logical and clear to think that way if you know how it works with boxing.

Kostya was coming off a loss to Hatton and announced his retirement, he already had serious injuries which kept him inactive before that anyway, that fight would've done nothing and Kostya wouldn't have considered it anyway at that point of his career. Still simple and logical, the man is coming off a bad loss which caused him some serious injuries, why would he consider another fight when he's already mentally and physically retired?, makes no sense. Gatti was a champion in the division and a decent opponent, a fight many people wanted to see, there was no reason to ignore it. If he ignored it and fought Kostya you would mention Gatti and a green Cotto instead.

I don't deal with "probablies" so that thing about Floyd "maybe" telling Arum to set up a fight with Oscar could be bull**** for all I care. Floyd wanted a future fight with Oscar and Arum wanted no part of that so Floyd did what he had to do and jumped off Arum's stable. The man to beat at the time and undisputed champion, officially recognized as #1 was Carlos Baldomir and Floyd fought him, then comes the fight with DLH and the rest is history. Very clear if you want to see it for what it is and not based on opinion.

If he's not a legend then what is he ? Why is he a mexican icon ? Not a star an icon ? For anyone who douts his greatness give some examples of a legend and see how Chavez stacks up to them ?

    why,
because floyd said showtime would've got in the way
so now floyd talks for showtime...the truth is floyd wanted gatti and nobody else....why , cause it was easy and even floyd called him a c level fighter, or are you gonna deny that too

He felt those shots, no doubt, but seriously hurt?, no way. If he was seriously hurt then Castillo landed MANY body shots after it, why didn't Floyd drop to the canvas?, if he was hurt before that he would've been dropped sooner or later. Those punches stunned him and gained his attention, didn't really put him in serious danger to be considered "hurt".

so then why fight zab who's a mental case and a front-runner (remember floyds words)

floyd himself played out his career from 140-147 by cherry picking and even talking **** about his opponents....why can't you guys see that **** :-(

Yes Floyd called him a C class fighter and I call him a D class fighter, to be honest. Still that doesn't change the fact that he was a champion in the division and a fight many wanted to see, there was no reason to make another fight, especially when you're saying a fight with a green Cotto would've been better. The same green Cotto that struggled badly against Torres, that doesn't mean Cotto is horrible but there is no denying a fight like that would've been too soon and possibly career threatening for a new excellent fighter still rising. Right now is the perfect time for a Cotto fight and there is no denying that, but back then?, come on.

    Floyd didn't say anything.

Floyd was signed to HBO and Zoo was signed to Showtime.

They've done a joint broadcast ONCE for a HUGE PPV. I doubt they would do it for a never been on PPV fighter like Floyd.

So it's all Floyds fault Zoo fought for Showtime?

Fair post. You seem to underestimate PBF's ability to fight effectively off the ropes he's at home there because of his excellent defense especially his ability to anticipate punches and roll with them. He's probably one of the best in the game at it. He countered the hell out of Oscar on the ropes and can spin off of them when needed. You also seem to think PBF can't take JCC shots he took JLC's who arguably hits harder than JCC does. He would be able to at times set his feet and sit in the pocket and get off power shots when needed. Because he has the superior reach and speed advantage.
I'll agree with you about cutting off the ring because JCC is a master at it but he couldn't do it 100% of the time and PBF would be able to move effectively at times and still pot shot.
