    well if people still want to cosider chavez as a good fighter and not a legend think bout this. after he beat Martinez and got Camachos vacated title he was 43-0. After that bout he was a champion who fought about 55 fights up to the point of the 1st DLH fight. How many title defenses and quality fighters did he beat on a consistant basis during this time? Not anybody can do this. if it took Chavez 43 fights before he started fighting quality, compared to other fighters who start fighting quality after their 14th fight, that still leaves Chavez fighting around 55 fights where majority of his opponents were quality.

    he's definately my favorite boxer of all time, but i dont think he was the best....i dont even consider anybody the best really, it's just a matter of what you like....i will never ever argue with anybody about who the greatest is, cause it all falls on your very own personal prefferance....

    as far as accomplishments go, i would rate sugar ray higher, but i wouldn't dog nobody for liking hagler more, even though he lost a close fight, hagler is somebody you can't speak bad about....a true throwback "bring'em all" type of fighter.....
