Floyd does do that way too much. He'll plant his arm and elbow while on the inside and just drive it toward an opponents throat or face. In these Rosario sequences, Chavez is seen placing his arm and elbow rather briefly. As has been noted, its a guaging strategy to to let him know just out of feel what Rosario is up to. When you're on the inside up close like that, a fighter is'nt always using eyesight to see what his oppoenent is up to, he's also using instincts and feel to anticipate. All the great infight fighters do it, but JC Chavez was absolutely brilliant at it. Now for the thread starter to somewhat insinuate that Chavez' tactics were as dirty Mayweather's, you can find dirtier tactics in the style and fight of such greats as Roberto Duran and Bernard Hopkins who imo took such illegal tactics to a level never before touched by Mayweather Jr. Chavez was actually one of the better in fighters that resorted less to illegal tactics. He was genuinely just great on the inside fighting on fair terms.
smh. quick to defend their hero chavez for elbowing saying he creates space but floyd does it create space too but i guess HEs the dirty one. yall act as if Floyd straight up strikes his opponents with his elbows like Demarco did valero. smh
I know he got horsed here but Rosario really was a hard *******.He was always good for a toe-to-toe. Didn't he have 20 ko's from his first 21 or 22?
bull****. the evidence is there for all to see, spinning it into what you want someone to see, wont work.
Not really. Its just that most posters I read here seem to think Floyd originated the use of the elbow as semi-legal tactic to create space and to defend against swarmers.
Counter Elbow, low blow combinations, and thrusting headbutts, Nucca :deal Chavez was a dirty fighter. :good
Damn, and I thought my boy money may was the only one smart enough to actually legally use them bows.
of course you would think that. i have a list of posters that see through the same goggles you do, dont mean they know wtf they are talkin about. i just already know what they are going to type even before they do. some clones are easy to figure out.
