Let's say they had fought 5 years prior to when they actually fought, Now iyo could you see this fight being any different than the way it turned out in 92?

    Chavez wins
Camacho almost got KOd by Rosario.
Camacho was a ham. He was flashy, and acted fast, but he was no Pernell.

    Chavez always beats Comacho.

Of course, it will be much more interesting and tense, but I feel Machos reaction to Rosario a bit of a character flaw. This version of Chavez would expose it first.

This is what I put in another thread. It works quite well in showing what I think about this proposed match up.

JCC beats 1987 Camacho easily. On points as Hector fights on the back foot, losing every round as he throws so few punches despite a frustrated Julio's taunts about his machismo. But there'd be no ****s getting pushed in. Camacho was too elusive and durable and, quite frankly, safety first at that point to take a nasty beating.

1986 Camacho, pre-Rosario, was much more aggressive and even quicker. And, imo, JCC didn't have the one punch pop that Chapo did to discombobulate that version of Camacho so Hector is able to stick to the game plan. I wouldn't make 1986, pre-Rosario Camacho a favourite but - unlike 1987, just one year later - I wouldn't bet against him pulling it off. Hector had the talent to be something special if he could have put it all together. I know that's a big if.

Rosario had much greater one punch power than Chavez. Camacho got caught by Rosario

The better fight would have been 1985 version of both at 135. By '87 Camacho had been deflowered a bit and was no longer the blend of speed and audacity and attitude he still was in mid-decade.

I always think Chavez was just a better fighter. More complete and mentally ready to fight everyone at anytime. Camacho was great at 130, but there were mental flaws which prevented him from being a Chavez level fighter.

Didn’t a prime Macho man dominate and knock down and break the nose of then lightweight champ Jose Luis Ramirez on his way to an easy title win which nether Chavez or Rosario around the same couple of years time period could do, certainly not as easily as Macho man did?

    Just putting it out there.

Not sure that says anything, really.

Maybe shows that when he was up, he was quite a formidable fighter offensively as well as defensively. He went on so long, that people probably remember him as he was in his later years rather than the talented all round fast moving, fast hitting and fast talking Macho man of his youth.

Fair enough. That was actually the overall thought of my own post in the thread.
