Chavez, at an advanced age and at an unnatural weightclass in 1998, gave Oscar all he could handle. A primed out Chavez, the one who KAYOED Taylor would have done the same to Oscar, who never has been as fast as a prime Meldrick.

To even hope to beat a prime Chavez. Oscar would have to go to war. & He doesn't want to do that. De La Hoya would hit a prime Chavez & Chavez would keep coming and coming. Oscar never experienced a savage body attack inwhich Chavez could dish out. In a close fight De La Hoya has had Stamina problems. That's when Chavez is applying more pressure. I'd look for Chavez to wear De La Hoya out for a late stoppage or Decision win.

I go with Oscar what he did to Chavez in 96 was impressive. I know Chavez was no longer the fighter he in the early 90s but he was still a great fighter and DLH ripped him apart that night. Oscar is taller and the stronger man even harder puncher plus hes MUCH quicker then even a prime Chavez and Chavez always had a bit of difficulty with quick fighters. Id pick Oscar to outbox him with his jab for most of the fight but turn of the agression like Oscar does occasionally when he throws about 2 jabs then right hook to the body followed up by left hook to the body then head or uppercut with alot of conviction. He may just cut him up agian and have it stopped. Oscar De la Hoya was a force in his prime especially at 130-140 hes just so big and powerful for those low weights.

DLh would have something that none of those guys did which is a significant size and power advantage over Chavez. Secondly I think that DLH is better than all of those guys. They may be better than him in some ways like you said such as Camacho and Taylor being faster thanhim but I think that he is a better overall figther.

Quartey brought De La Hoya to the brink, And he didn't put up half the pressure Chavez would bring. Chavez shook off Mayweather & Rosario's punches, De La Hoya wouldn't hurt him. Plus in his prime Chavez didn't have cut problems. Miguel A. Gonzalez gave De La Hoya a good fight and he used to be compared as a "Chavez Light" type of fighter. I seem to remember De La Hoya running in the 12th round against Gonzalez & the crowd Booing him.

I seem to remember Oscar running in the 9th 10th, 11th, 12th against a Pressure fighter named Tito and the crowd booing his Golden Ass as well.

DLH was naturally bigger but Chavez was far better p4p.

I think Chavez wins at 130 & 135, I really think he would be too much for Oscar at those weights.

140 would be a toss up as JC had lost a lot of speed by then & as said before, DLH is the bigger guy. This fight would just depend on whoever showed up best on the night IMO.

DLH wins at 147, no question, that was arguably Oscar`s best weight & definitely Chavez worst weight.

chavez fought only once at 147 during his prime and it was against Kenny Vice. Im not saying Vice and Oscar were in the same leauge ,but it kind of gives you an idea how it would play out. Vice was just as tall and was giving chavez peppered jabs while "doing lateral movement". Chavez destroyed him he didn't look like a lop either.

DlH wouldnt be able to out box JCC like he did Trinidad for 10 rounds and to me that would be his only chance at beating JCC who would have DLH winded by round 9. IF he stood there with JCC, Chavez would wear him down especially with all that target of a rib cage DLH gives up to JCC. It would be hard to get past the jab at times but chavez would time it and come over it with his straight right as anyone who seen Chavez in his prime do many times.

But Rogers right was way better than Oscars anyday. ROgers right was the 2nd best in the buisness at the time right behind HEarns.

    simon que si....
oscar's downfall will be his little skittle nuts...trying to bang with a mexican (how he always has) for 12 hard rounds.....the only difference is that chavez wouldn't of gone anywhere and fired right back :bbb :bbb
