but he had height and power which is what you said would trouble chavez.....

oscar never ever faced anybody like a prime chavez...while chavez faced little shades of oscar here and there :good

& Rosario's, Chavez didn't blink twice with him either. & Rosario's right hand ruined Camacho's Career!

He faced little shades of Oscar but not Oscar. he faced guys as fast as Oscar or faster, guys big like Oscar, guys that punched as hard as oscar or harder, guys that had a chin equal to or better than oscar but he never faced a fighter that posessed it all in the package that Oscar did at those weights. Oscar outgrew them pretty quickly and moved up and so he doesn't have a long list of accomplishments there the way that Chavez does and as a result I think that he gets underrated at those weights.

I agree just look at DLHs record at Lightweight

KO 2 Jorge Paez - former long time Featherweight Champ.
    TKO 3 Carl Griffith
    TKO 9 John Avila
UD John John Molina - current and 2 time 130 Champ at that time.
TKO 2 Rafael Ruleas - IBF Lightweight Champ going in.
TKO 6 Genaro Hernandez - defended his 130 title 8 straight times going in and a unbeaten fighter.
TKO 2 Jesse James Leija - former 130 Champ even beat Azumah Nelson before this fight.

Thats pretty impressive considering how badly he beat alot of high level fighters.

Exactly. Oscar didn't just beat these guys, he destroyed them. Obviously Chavez is much better than any of those guys but I still think Oscar would be too much for him to handle.

Chavez is also a midget compared to Oscar. He knows how to get inside but Oscar still has a very big size advantage. When you combine that size advantage with all of Oscar's other attributes I would favor him over Chavez

Meldrick wasnt too much better, maybe in speed but the power edge definetely went to Oscar.

Oscar would beat Chavez everytime IMO.

Oscar was too big of a guy for Chavez.
Watching Chavez Vs. De La Hoya II [1 don't count] you could see the diff..
De La Hoya came into that fight weighing over 160lbs (On fight night)
while Chavez couldn't even make the 147 limit [144lbs]

Chavez to his credit at age 35, gave Oscar a hand full for the 8 rounds II lasted.
Landing some flush right hand's and some left hook's.
(That would have floored a normal 140lbs fighter, But this was WW)
And on fight night Oscar was a Middleweight +

De La Hoya just shook them off like jab's being landed.
And this is against Prime De La Hoya.

Oscar is a horrible matchup for Chavez, he beats any version of the man.

Wrong again, as usual. Had Oscar ko'd Chavez in 1 round, in 1998, I'd agree.

Chavez would've eaten that left and fallen down just like everyone else at 130-147 that fought Oscar. Chavez would have to get inside and to get inside he'd eat some of the biggest blows in his career.
