I don't know if anyone has had a thread with these two great warriors in a fantasy match-up, but I would have loved to see this. I would have gone with Duran in a split decision. This would be at 135. I know some one already had a thread with Duran vs Tito, Oscar, and Cotto, but realistically Duran and Chavez were amazing at 135. Oscar is the only one that had fought at 135 and he would have gotten stopped late. Prime for Prime.
Duran clear UD He's the more versatile fighter, a better defensive fighter, holds the speed advantage, the more technical in-fighter, and a more fluid combination puncher. Chavez was more of a classic pressure fighter who applied intelligent pressure and cut off the ring well. Duran was more of a dynamic swarmer who didn't need to cut off the ring to be at his most effective. I see Duran getting the better of him at any range, timing Chavez's more predictable offense, and clearly landing more punches. Would be a hell of a fight.
Give me a break Mr. SweetPea, it's been a long day. I had to go back and look at the other guy's thread. I just meant Prime for Prime.
