Chavez had more heart and a better chin. Chavez was a ****ing wrecking ball as was Duran. It all comes down to who had a better chin and more balls. The toughest SOB ever was Chavez in his prime. Either way ths fight would be a war. Duran at 135 Chavez at 140.

Chavez was sensational in his prime. He was a complete fighter, one of the absolute best inside fighters of all-time. Great chin, great power, great bodypunching, deadly accurate, sound defense, he was fantastic.

However, he has no edge over Duran. When were talking about the prime 135lbs Roberto Duran, were talking about perhaps (and quite likely) the most complete, nearly flawless fighter in boxing history. I have never seen anyone as impressive in the ring as a prime Duran.

He hit harder, he was faster, he was better on the inside, better at mid-range, much better on the outside, better defense, better feints, better counters, better footwork, Duran was simply superior to Chavez in virtually every way possible.

Each man at their absolute best, Duran wins every single time, it doesn't matter how many times they fight. As great as Chavez was, he would simply be out of his depth against Duran, because he has no edge. Nothing, not one thing he can do better.

Duran UD, something like 10-5 or 11-4, and while not likely, a stoppage over 15 rounds is not out of the question. One man went 15 rounds with Duran at 135lbs, and he ran the entire fight, which of course Chavez will not do.

I'd like to add Duran used to cut like 20 lbs to fight at 135.

Calling Duran a punk is beyond insulting. He cared deeply about his fans, his people, and the impoverished and poor. People would line up at his door and he'd listen to their problems and give them money. A generous human being and man. He would whip Chavez by the way.
