Fight is not totally off yet, Arum brought in Todd as last ditch negotiator. Word is K2 talked with HBO today to try and get them to approve a Quillin unification fight on HBO. No word on if Tom had any luck with that, just that he was going to try. When it comes to the "cold war" its not really even the GBP/TR rift that bugs me anyhow. Its the GBP/everyone-else rift. If GBP and HBO can occasionally live together so the smaller promotions like Banner, ME, K2, etc can at least make title fights on HBO with GBP I will be happy.
Not sure where youve been, but Schaefer and Haymon have been the ones not making fights. Love Arum, hate Arum - doesnt matter. He has nothing to do with GBP/Haymon guys fighting in-house.
There's so many good fighters out there I can't stand that fights don't get made because of their bull**** politics
Mike Tyson wrote in his biography, that Cus said, Bob Arum is the biggest **** in boxing, even worse than Don King .. probably actions like these made him say that.
LOL. Even TR top fighters cuss Arum and say he is a crooked SOB. The thing is, no matter what you think about GBP, I have never heard them say negative things in the press like Arum has repeatedly done with Rigo. No surprise that Rigo is abandoning the ship like Chavez and Garcia.
No. But for someone at the time who had only begun to be known to the public for 14 months, it's impressive how his popularity has escalated. The Chavez fight definitely would've helped too which is unfortunate that it might not happen with the way things are looking.
