According to rumors Top Rank doesn't believe Chavez Jr. is ready for Rubio just yet, so they'll elevate Julio to Silver Champion Emeritus while Rubio fights Giovanni Lorenzo for the vacant MW title. The two will unify late 2012 / early 2013.

Yep, Sergio is just the Champion Emeritus and WBC Diamond belt holder.
He needs to unify the diamond and silver belts before I take him seriously :nut

i've a feeling Arum wont let this fight happen, he'll come with some BS like a fight against little cotto or get DLH out of his lingerie and put him in the ring for a freak show.

he'd be the first to do it but that would rank up quite highly on the ATG unifications

I am glad that Rubio didnt get stiffed after winning that eliminator

I think he beat Lemiux because Lemiux played into his perfect plan of getting taken to the deep waters and getting drowned

I think Rubio is good but not world level, and the way he beat Lemiux isnt gonna work on Chavez, plus Lemiux won like every round til the last one or one before the last one

You applaud him for ducking his mandatory?

Rubio v Chavez is a quality, fan friendly fight but there is no ****ing way Chavez Jr should be applauded. You've become so accustomed to his bull****, you are applauding him being slightly less of a ***** than he has been up to now. Well done.

Why are you so concerned about belts? I'd rather see a young fighter take progressive step ups before taking on an established champion that he is not prepared to fight.
Take the belts out of the equation and this is a logical, yet dangerous choice for Junior

Good fight, Very winnable & Rubio's style will help Chavez Jr's shine.
