Yaegashi on points. Fought a better pool of opposition and he was more athletically gifted than Menayothin.

Yaegashi was not in his prime at 105. But Yaegashi from 2010 and onwards would easily have taken the W.

He would have simply outworked Moonsri.

Not easy Moonsri have a so good defense and good chin.

Yeah I know Yaegashi was not at his prime at minimumweight.

Yea, easy might have been an overstatement.
I think Yaegashi´s superior athleticism would have allowed him to simply outwork Moonsri, who was the better boxer technically.
    Also, this:
It was also one of his big flaws. When it was time to defend himself, he would 100% focus on defense, which allowed his opponents to let their hands go with very little fear of being countered. And usually Moonsri would wait for the volley to end, reset himself and then start being more offensive minded again. That little defense to reset he did almost cost him a few fights.
And considering Moonsri wasn´t a big puncher, Yaegashi would have taken full advantage of it and dragged Moonsri into a brawl.

Does anyone know/remember why Moonsri ended up not making his US debut? I remember GBP wanting to bring him over.
It was a real letdown that it never happened. It would have been great for the division and for the new talent there today.

The pandemic derailed the plan for his fight in the US. After that he started talking about retirement and probably then his promoters decided to make him face Panya, who ultimately beat him.

    I remember that!
Wasn´t he basically retired, only be dragged into that title defense?

More or less he was coerced to take that fight. Which was a shame, because everything was against him.

All jokes aside for Menayothin and the TBE memes. He was a pretty good fighter, who was done dirty by his people. Even Panya, who is his brother-in-law.
