That's what I'm asking! Does the IBF have a weight gain stipulation that is outside the scope of the contract? If the answer is yes, then Jacob's pulled a fast one on G ! He out witted G in the build up of the fight, now look for Jacob's to out wit G in the ring tonight as well!
You guys have called Jacob's everything but ni@@er in the build up of this fight! First he was a coward that would not take the fight, then he was a roid cheat, a weight cheat and now he's a homosexual! I hope Jacob's ends G's career and G developed severe shakes to the point he can't hold his children! That would teach you G loving idiots some good!
I agree with the first part of this post. The second part i wouldnt wish on anyone. I dont think you would wish something like that on a stranger if you had experienced a close family member or a loved one with that kind of condition
Yeah, def not a cheat by not making the IBF's second day weigh in. Only the IBF requires that to fight for one of their belts. Shoot, most of you guys would die at the thought of a second day weigh in being brought up in any fight negotiations.
More than likely what happened, is that when the official weigh in was moved to a time so early in the day, it messed up Jacobs' rehydration plans. With the official weigh in in the morning, that means that he could only gain 10 pounds in 24 hours, due to having to weigh in the second morning for the IBF. He obviously felt that would have had a negative effect on his body, so he was like **** it. Personally, I think the IBF and all other boxing organizations should move their weighins to a few hours before the fight to ensure that guys fight at their weight class.
In terms of sport, I would argue a rule has to be broken for something which is unsporting to becoming flat-out cheating. So what rule has he broken? The word unsporting exists for a reason, to bridge the gap between Corinthian and cheating...
Lemieux was fighting for a handful of titles that you couldnt even quiz anyone on. so not quite the same situation.
pull the racism card why don't you, just so you can wish ill will on ggg who has been nothing but exemplary through this whole build up as well as throughout his career. When a fighter is pulling out all the stops to cheat in every way shape and form, then those who have standards and believe in morals will fire criticism their way. Your post is disgusting. If I were a petty man I'd report you but I understand that all of your emotions along with the rest of your being is heavily and entirely invested in this cheat being able to pull off one his so-called miracles tonight. Sadly the only clean and fair miracle that we'll be blessed to witness from this cheat, is him being able to lift his bloodied and battered head off the canvas.
The rules are the 10lb weight limit which Jacobs has gone over. The rules are that you do not take performance enhancing substances which clearly Jacobs doesn't feel applies to him due to his old cancer diagnose. Whatever way you want to spin it and however much you want to play around with semantics, the reality remains that Jacobs is coming out of this looking like a cheating weasel.
Not sure why some of you are blaming Jacobs. He didn't move the weighin from the early evening to 9AM in the morning. That significantly extends the amount of time that the fighters can't rehydrate more than 10 pounds. He obviously felt that that wasn't compatible with his rehydration plans, so he skipped it.
The annoying part isn't that Jacobs missed it, it's that they waited until the morning of to skip out on it. They could've easily bailed on the IBF long ago, but they made sure to wait so GGG only put on the 10 pounds. They should've never bothered fighting for the IBF belt if this was the plan. Regardless of the outcome now, it's not a good look...but I guess if he wins, nobody will care anyways.
How does blowing off the IBF second day weigh in amount to cheating, in light of the fact that the fighters were thrown a curve ball with a morning weigh in? Weighing in at 9AM significantly increased the amount of time that the fighters would have to stay under the 10 pound rehydration limit. Jacobs obviously felt that he couldn't do that for an extra 7-8 hours so he decided to skip it all together.
