CHaul Pender 01:Gene Fulmer 02:Joey Giardello 03:Gustav Scholz 04:Henry Hank 05:Ray Robinson 06:Spider Webb 07:Hank Casey 08ick Tiger 09:Joey Giambra 10:Terry Downes Deep. Where do you think Pavlik would be on this list? :hey What are some other top divisions, put up the Ring ranking and the date.
Fullmer would have brutallized Pavlik and Giardello would have totally befuddled him...Poor Kelly would have been lucky to crack #8. It isn't really necessary to say what Tiger would have done to him...I have nothing against Pavlik, by the way..this is just speculating in grim reality
Kelly would have done fine...but like all fighters of that era he would have never have come out unscathed..He would have had some good wins but some bad losses aswell. And actually seeing how hard he took the Hopkins loss from reports...He may well of just packed it in after a couple of L's on the trot. Even if Kelly went up to lightheavy to try his luck there...he still would have had to contend with Johnson, Moore and an emerging Pastrano...doesnt have much of a chance there either.
Certainly was real...and a bloody good fighter aswell. A gentleman named Tiger Jones was floating around at that time aswell.
And he never ever got a chance to fight for the middleweight title. Just when he was a good amount past his best he gopt a chance against H. Johnson for the lhw crown - he started as a lw btw. There is no film of that fight but due to what it´s written he lost due to age, he couldn´t keep his normal workrate. He has a shot against any on this list and aside from Fullmer I think he should be the favourite against everyone.
Deeper than the Marianas Trench. I wonder if there are any giant squids living at the bottom? Why would there be? Jesus.
Maybe but I have to think if he had fought back then he wouldn't have built up that long a winning streak and been so attached to his 0 in the first place. He'd have been a tough SOB still. I wonder if he could've made 160 though with the weigh-in rules of the time.
Of course he could. It's no different to making the weight with the weigh-in rules then. The question is, would the shorter time for re-hydration adversely affect him?
Well, obviously I meant make weight in a viable enough shape where he wouldn't be thinking about just fighting at 175 instead.
