Kongo would make a good tune-up for Velasquez.

Come on Stoo beating Barry and Mitrione in a row has to earn you something. Remember the thread about Matt looking like a force as well

Winning two in a row against those modern day ''evolved'' athletes really means something...

Kongo should rematch Travis Browne next imo, I'm still not 100% convinced with Browne and Kongo would have beaten him had it not been for the short pulling last time.

To Mitrione credit, he didn't get KTFO like Barry

This is the UFC heavy weight division we're talking about, it's about as deep as a tea spoon

The usual suspects here are being clowns shitting on Kongo's striking. There's nothing at all wrong with his technique and power and setting up distance, particularly in comparison to other MMA guys. There are a lot of know-it-alls in this thread that just want to **** on everybody (or at least everybody who wasn't an old tymme pride guy). Kongo's problem is that he doesn't want to engage and seems to not want to get hit and would rather coast to a 2-1 decision loss than go for the knockout and get tagged. When he's on top on the ground he goes nuts and beats the **** out of guys but that's a position where he knows he can't be hit hard.

Hes the stiffest fighter Ive ever seen, they should give him canola oil to drink in his corner. When all is said and done and MMAs dead, you look at the name Cheik Kongo and hed be at the forefront of that movement.
