    No way was it 7-0

Maybe 5-2 or 6-1, Burns then won 8 and 9, and for me was going to take the remaining three

Gonzalez is better than anyone Broner has face recently aswell.

Did he or did he not lose 7 rounds straight and never come up with a single idea until his opponent broke his hand?

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

Which round in the first 7 did you give Burns?

And of course he's better. Burns has balls, Broner is a little beeeeeitch.

He won one round and was getting murdered but in the 7th showed a champions resilience. Heart, chin, overcoming adversity at the end of the day = credibility.

    Sorry if you disagree.

Myself and the friend i watched it with gave Burns one of the early rounds, was either the 2nd or the 4th, and the other we went back and forth over, the rest we have Chelo

7-0 is being a bit pro Gonzalez and anti Burns

The judges had it very fair for me, Gonzalez 3 ahead after 9 rds, Burns won 8 and 9, and was looking big favourite to continue that momentum

I don't disagree with that at all. I just think that all that wouldn't have been enough to win him the fight if the injury didn't happen. Full credit to him for persevering and coming on strong, but what did you expect him to do, forfeit the fight when it became mathematically impossible to win :huh

Agreed. I gave Gonzalez all the first 7 rounds because I have consistent scoring criteria and stick with it, but I'm sure one of the earlier rounds was close enough to give to Burns if you really like him or have a different set of criteria than I do.

Again though, Burns won 8 and 9 due to the fact that Gonzalez did absolutely nothing on account of an injury. There was no point where Burns turned the fight around, Gonzalez just became incapacitated and worthless. I agree Burns would have won all the remaining rounds, and I'll add that it looked like a stoppage was coming. Doesn't change the fact that he was being absolutely dominated before the injury.

I'll add that I'm a fan of Burns and hadn't ever seen Gonzalez before today. I'm mainly reacting to the insane nuthugging and revisionist history that started as soon as the fight ended.

There was a point where it turned, when he stiffened Chelo's legs in the 7th and Chelo tired, Both guys stiffened in that round, only one recovered from it properly

A stoppage may have came if he didn't quit, glad you agree

well I think we agree to an extent; the fact that he didn't fold when outboxed is a good champions quality.

    think lewis/vitali.

ricky fought a smarter fight, weathered the storm, didn't gas, never gave up.

full credit to chelo though; he should have won and will in a rematch.

    broner beats both i think.

Didn't watch it yet, going off what I heard.

Whatever happened in the fight, I have the utmost confidence that it was not 118-110 :good And I'll admit I'm biased against McDonnell because his style is ugly and his ears are huge.

it's best not to make comments on hearsay. far too many idiots out there that'll make you look silly. just like you did with the Mcdonnell post.

no, what in fact happened was, Jamie gave him a boxing lesson. made him miss most of his shots, then made him pay with counters. kept using the ring so Ceja couldn't get set to land his shots. it was a great performance by him. he clearly won that by wide decision. Ceja walked back to the dressing room crying. he was devastated.

he'll come again. he never quit trying, but Jamie was just far too sharp for him. too much boxing ability.

You're the only person I've heard say it was wide or clear.

It was pretty clear, 3 or 4 point win to McDonnell would have been about right.

Ceja was hitting thin air and getting contered with right hands a lot.
