It's a real slippery slope when one thinks about it. Arguello not making an effort to get up against Pryor the 2nd fight could it be seen in the same light as Joshua in the 1st fight with Ruiz? Or because Arguello had proven his toughness against some of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport and the 24 pure hell rds he went through between the two fights with Pryor earn him a pass? In comparison to Joshua quitting against a nobody in a fight that wasn't near as physically damaging.
Any fighter or human being for that matter has fear when facing a potentially dangerous
situation. But's It's always how one handles the fear is the difference between a warrior and
a coward. Sure Spinks tried to get up after getting dropped by Tyson the 1st time he got
knocked down, but was it preordained by Spinks's obvious fear of getting hurt by Tyson
that helped contributed to that knock down ? Same with Patterson against Liston. It
was very obvious Patterson was going to lose before the 1st punch was thrown, his
    body language spoke for itself.
Did Duran's "No mas" incident indicate he was afraid of Leonard or was he afraid
too get embarrassed by Leonard? Is it a question about his heart? or his mental
toughness? Norton was hit a hell of a lot more by Holmes and Ali than he was by
Shavers, Foreman and Cooney but was it his fear of the latter 3's power that contributed
too him getting ko'd in a total of four rds between those 3 fighters? When considering he
went 54 total rds against Ali and Holmes without even looking seriously hurt against those two.
Did that sharp quick counter right hand hurt Liston as much as his realization that
he simply wasn't good enough to beat Ali in the 2nd fight. It appeared he
could've at the least attempted to get up. Did Ali beat him up mentally as well as
physically in the 1st fight. Did the bully get bullied and responded like most do? Heart,Mental toughness, determination and the physical ability to take a great punch,
all are interwoven where boxing is concerned and usually a prerequisite of greatness
    along with skills,and physical ability.

Imagine Wladimir Klitschko with Tommy Hearns' fierce pride and heart? That would be a helluva fighter! Wladimir showed heart at times but never seemed keen on rematching guys who beat him unless they were shot/half blind (Brewster).
