The chincheckers are the finest and best educated posters on this forum.. How many times do we see a nuthugger try to spread his agenda about his favorit hero to the people here on ESB?
He will most likely use delusional propaganda like "Lucian Bute can chop down Mount everest with a body shot! Therefor i predict that he will KO Carl Froch before the 3rd!".
We chincheckers DO NOT rely on propaganda, hype, fairy tales or idiotic delusional fanboyism.. We use irrefutable evidence and science to make our conclussions.. That's why we will always be a step ahead, because we call it as we see it and we do not have any kind of agenda..

I can tell you this Iron Chinned fighters do not get KOed. Ever. Fighters like George Chuvalo, Jake LaMotta, Marvin Hagler, Vitali Klitschko, etc are Iron Chinned Warriors.

Someone for example like Antonio Margarito is not and NEVER was an Iron Chinned fighter. He had a very good Chin but not Iron. There is a huge difference in the upper echelon level of Chin and the 2nd tier level.

Chins matter and Glass Jaws exist in Boxing. We WILL discuss them on ESB.

Morrison was great to watch for that very reason he either brutally KOed someone or got brutally KOed himself.

In all of those guys' class and then some.

Robinson was also not KO'ed in 200 professional fights. Not as a result of punches.

Mayweather, no question. Pac's punch resistance has been SHOWN to be less than 100 percent earlier in his career. Once it cracks, be it chin or body, it can shatter again.:yep

Also like to add that another early indication of a glass jaw is if a fighter's management team consistently puts him in with bums because they don't want the fighter to have his glass jaws shattered. (Wilder)

Depends on how the KO goes down. If the guy is starched, i.e. knocked out cold (Allan Green is a recent example) then it's definitely glass. Of course, the fighter's history should be factored in too. If he's been stopped before, this adds weight to the determination that he has a glass jaw.

If, on the other hand, you are talking about a fighter that is knocked out in the third, but not out cold, and one who does not have a history of tasting canvas, then the chin is probably less than sturdy, certainly, but not glass.

In short, context matters. And nothing is more important than the QUALITY of the KO. The telltale sign of having a glass jaw is getting knocked out cold, however long it takes to happen.

    Dear Chincheckers

As a fan of Wladimir Klitschko I would like to hear what you think of his chin. He has been KO'd in an embarassing fashion no less then three times, but never cold, and tends to get back up from the canvas again.

When he fought Purrity and Sanders he was in a horrible mental shape after beating the count. When he was flored by Sam Peter multiple times he was able to continue and actually win. He also took Hayes best right clean, and was hurt enough to clinch but stayed on his feets.

How should such a chin be labeled :huh

It is Pure Porcelain. The only reason he hasn't been KOed in recent years is because the level of his competition is completely horrendous and he fights with a safety-first style even against completely overmatched, fat, blown-up CWs.

Hardly, denier - we talk CHINS on ESB, and there's nothing you can do about it. Glass jaws exist in boxing, and the sooner you blind hero-worshiping fanboys accept it, the better!!!
