I have always regarded Vitali as being a bona fide Ironed Chinned Warrior. Someone who could take flush punches and come back with even harder shots.:deal However, I have recently stumbled upon evidence which challenges my prior view. The below video shows Vitali being knocked spark out by a roundhouse kick. think This week, I shall be jetting into Germany, specifically to the University of Leichtenstein, whereby I will greeted by none other than the esteemed Professor I C Chins and his team of analysts who will examine this video in the renowned Punch Resistance Laboratories. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n7zExsuCRU
Vitali has a good chin, but not as good as some think. Part of the reason he has never been knocked down or out is a result of who he has fought. This is not necessarily his fault, as he has fought in a weak era - but if he fought in the 70s or 90s, I suspect he would have tasted canvas and been KOd
Vitali gets dropped by a spinning heel to the chin = suspect chin. Calslappy gets dropped by an ancient bhop and a shot to **** RJJ's wrist = iron chinned warrior. LOL brittards
do you have any idea how much more power a kick has than a punch.... onto of that.... that kick boxing fight was what?....20+ years ago that video is totally irrelevant to what Vitali accomplished in boxing
I am simply opening up the forum for healthy debate and stirring boxing discourse, Chef.happy:grouphugwha: I am a fan of Vitali. But why did he deny that he was knocked out by a kick to the face, and claim it was a thigh kick which did for him? :think
Also, this brings to question the common idea that once a chin cracks... So i guess Vitali's chin was cracked, or that phrase is up for scrutiny
I agree that is, at best, only marginally relevant to evaluating Vitali's punch resistance - but the fact that he has not faced the level of opposition that, say, Evander Holyfield or Muhammad Ali did, IS relevant.
The kick was so powerful he genuinely doesn't remember, he still to this day has no clue who Pele Reid is. Spinning kick to the dome, Vitali got knocked the fĂșck out deal with the facts Klittards. :deal
Its solid but i wouldn't call him an iron chinned warrior. Iron chined warrior's walk through punches. Vitali has backed off and ran away everytime he was hit. Pudding fisted Chisora had him on his bike for 12 rounds. When Sander connected on him , he went from one side of the ring to the other in a nano second.
Tremendous input, kragz. My great grandfather used to always say "once they crack, they don't come back." However, in Vitali, have we witnessed the first man to dispute the age-old proverb?:think
