This is an interesting question.........There have been instances in the past of varying Chins between siblings. The Spinks brothers had very different Chins Leon's was basically Glass. I think Lucas has a serviceable Chin.
Lucas did take some flush shots from judah, alexander and peterson for what its worth. I think he has a good chin.
Yeah, this is my take too. Initially, I was somewhat suspicious of Lucas's chin, but so far it has proven to be solid. In that respect, these guys do seem similar to the Spinks brothers. The older brother's chin is chin, the younger brother's is generally solid.
Walter's chin was never tested until Paul Williams. All fighters he fought after p-dub carried a decent amount of power and ultimately Walter folded. I believe except zab and Vivian(to a certain degree), Lucas hasn't been in with any real big punchers. There's a chance that he may suffer a similar outcome. I personally believe his chin is decent but I have doubts as to if it is granite.
I am not concerned with being 'rocked' or 'wobbled' when a guy is getting knocked down or KOed by a fighter with low KO rates it tells me there is a Glass Jaw situation. Also, when fighters are shielded from power punchers continually and put in with 20% and 30% KO rate fighters it tells me their management knows they have a Glass Jawed fighter.
I dont agree. Fighters who every now and then get rocked that that their legs look unsteady, I'd question their ability to take a real hard shot square. Being dropped does'nt equate to having a bad chin. Felix Trinidad and Juan Manuel Marquez both often hit the floor, yet when they got up, their legs were strong and steady ready to throw. Repeatedly being on unsteady legs =bad chin
When you get tired by trying to ko a guy with a glass jaw and can't ko the guy, then what does that say about Kirkland? Oh you told us...Kirkland got lucky because Angulo got tired. You're a waste of a boxing fan top even start a thread like this. I'm starting to lose respect for posters who have any questions to ask your sorry behind.
As long as fighters get wobbled, knocked down, and knocked the F*** out, we will keep talking about glass jaws, denier.:yep Glass jaws do exist in boxing, and your post indicates that there are still unfortunately some ignorant boxing fans who need to be educated about the importance of punch resistance!:deal
If you saw how disabled Rico's head is you'd know why he takes the **** out of fighters 'jaws', his jaw is permanently swollen
I agree, but I'm not sure he could have done anything different besides pacing himself better and keeping his composure after hurting Kirkland in the first round.
Nathan Cleverly: Bad chin or not? He goes in and pressures a banger. Most guys with a bad chin wouldn't feel they have the ability to take a bombers shots, and walk them down........or would they:huh
