What makes up a good chin? I've been taught that it's partly physical in the condition of the body and partly mental in willing yourself to take a punch but if that's the case why can't very fit determined people like amir khan or wladimir klitschko take punches the way similar athletes like pacquiao or vitali can? What else affects it? Hydration? Bone structure? Some intangible mental factor?
There is a film in the pipeline called 'Iron Chinned Warriors' from the same studio that brought us cult classic "Glass Jaws - The Movie". I'm consulting Chin expert Rico Spadafora for his Mandible expertise and I am liasing with the movie producers with this expert information in order to make "Iron Chinned Warriors" THE premier film about remarkable punch resistance. :thumbsup
I think a huge part of it is mental. Obviously, if someone hits you clean and hard enough, you'll go to sleep whether you want to or not. If you can steel yourself to realize you're about to take a nasty shot at some point during a fight, it probably helps. Mind over matter. Plus strong neck muscles to absorb the shock. Not to be confused with Cheen, which Adamek has because he's Highlander.
alot of it is mental if your not comfortable you tend to feel punches more also i think alot of the time a shakey chin is mistaken for a bad body structure alot of fighters these days seem to put no muscle at all into there legs and they always look like they could go from a big punch iv always felt thats why marquez is proned to knockdowns his legs are skinny as ****! lol
george chuvalo says he stood on his head every day and chewed bubble gum to strengthen his jaw muscles.he knows something about having a good chin.
