He's a mover, little ****er never stops, and that's part of what makes him so special, but if you get clipped (and you will if you face top or even decent guys on the regular)whilst or when you're preparing to move then you go down.

Apropos of nothing at all, that's why we might see Kovalev caught in future - stylistically completely different but another guy who uses a great deal of movement in his game and may repeatedly end up on his ass, even if not necessarily hurt for it.

Glass chins don't enter the equation. Mobility is great and an real asset, but you can't be both fast moving and set to recieve punches simultaneously.

I think it's clear that Rigondeaux has a serious glass jaw problem. Its kind of cool that he's so next level that it doesn't even matter, though.

    Good post. I agree.

There's a difference between getting knocked down and being chinny.

Interestingly, I found a boxing magazine in the loft from 1995. There is an article on Oscar De La Hoya, and the writer repeatedly refers to Oscar's suspected glass jaw as he had been dropped a couple of times by non punchers.

I disagree with Rigo having a glass jaw, he has a very bad balance and the first knock-down in the Amagasa fight he got floored easily but was never hurt.
The second knock-down was a clear push. He really ate some Japanese bombs and was floored because he got hit by surprise.
Not a glass jaw in my view.

The first knock down he was off balance and did not look hurt. The second knockdown was a punch but rigo was clearly pushed down and did not look hurt. As a matter of fact rigo began punching harder after those knock downs and the disfigurement of amagas face began. Some fighters get knocked down and It brings out the Dog in them. Rigo who let the dogs out whoof whoof whoof.

    Neither.

No glass jaw or iron chin.

I think that the best proof would be in the style.

One doesn't run and avoid that much, so obsessively, if he isn't worried of something.

Everybody likes ko and to hurt their opponents.

If ones avoid opening even when he's fracturing the opponent's face, like Rigo repeatedly did, it means he knows more.

Rigo is the best scared to death of getting hit fighter i've ever seen, by far. i haven't seen it proven yet but i'm betting he's packing glass in that jaw.
