Discuss. In my estimation, his chin is fabulous, never been down in his career pro, amateurs or the olympics. 17 years as a pro, insane...

"never been down in his career pro or amateurs"

Down to his defence and ring smarts.

You hit him flush you will hurt him or put him down if you have decent power. You don't need to dicuss mayweahers chin. He could have pure glass but it wouldn't matter.

Thats pretty much the deal with most fighters. However, we can't just assume anything especially that the guy been in the ring for a quarter century without going down!

Mayweather is a bona fide Iron Chinned Warrior.

I'm going to re-post my response to a similar question posed before the Alvarez fight. Due to Mayweather's brilliance, nothing has changed.

I would ask the same question of Mayweather though; there's an assumption that he has a great chin because he survived being badly rocked early by Mosley, but another way to look at that is to wonder why he was affected thus. Has Mosley got any early stoppages on his record of late? Nope, you've got to go back to 2001 and Adrian Stone to find someone he stopped before the midway point, and plenty took a lot of full-blooded shots from the man before they showed signs of being as hurt as Mayweather was.

Floyd Mayweather is a fantastic boxer, but as his reflexes dim with age I wouldn't be surprised to see the chin exposed as a weak link.

His chin is average. It's his defense that has kept him up, not his durability.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Ask yourself do Roger and Floyd sr. have iron chins and I think you should get a fair idea of the Mayweather "chin".

The first part of your post is reasonable but the second part doesn't make much sense. If Floyd Jr's overall boxing ability can be so much better than Roger or Floyd Sr there is no reason his chin couldn't also be.

Not only did he get caught by a huge bomb from Mosley. he got caught by that bomb that he didn't see. Yes it stunned him but he stayed on his feet and won the rest of the round. He has a solid chin.

  12. Floyd was hurt against Judah .. I don't think his chin is that great.

    He wasn't hurt. :hi:

He was hurt was he broke his right hand in that fight and when Judah gave him that disgraceful low blow.

I dont know. I think he has a great chin, and solid recovery skills.

I remember when Chop Chop rocked him, and he responded well. Quite well actually. Just started smiling. Mosley rocked him too, but he didnt go down with either one.

I'd give his chin an 8/10.
