Chincheckers, how do you rate Money's chin?

both of them shots rocked him the first one was not clear because he was hanging on for dear life holding shanes arm so if shane was not their he would look more rocked then second one

 

He has an Iron Chin. Same punch that sparked Margarito he took from Mosley.

He held on for about 4 seconds. and still had his guard up after he got rocked.

he still won remainder of that round too.

That punch that he took puts anyone else out, or at least knocks them down. He took a like G foreal.

Even here. He didnt get dropped. Thats similar to what Pac got hit with in third round against Marquez, in their 4th fight.

No chicken dances with either punch, and he didnt run with either punch he stood in the pocket.

I think he has a 8/10 chin with a 10/10 recovery ability.

 

Mosley landed two perfect shots on him in the span of a few seconds. The first shot came after a jab to the body, so Mosley was able to shift his full weight into that right hand. Imo, he probably hit Floyd harder than any shot he landed on Margo right there. Floyd seemed to be leaning down just a bit, so he was right in line with the shot and took it flush.

The second shot was one that Floyd never saw coming. It's miraculous that he didn't go down there. Hell, he even went on to turn the fight around seconds later. Beat Shane up and destroyed his will to win.

Then there's the Corley fight. Corley was known for getting to a fighter's chin. Floyd beat Corley up like a heavy bag immediately after he got clipped. No way that would happen if he didn't have a chin.

Cotto landed on Floyd. Alvarez landed on Floyd. These guys are known for beating up and stopping fighters. Plus, both are bigger than Mayweather. Cotto even hammered Floyd's body in that fight with some good left hooks downstairs. Didn't bother him.

Mayweather is tough as hell in general. The only thing that will beat him is father time. He is approaching 37 years old.

It's impossible to say whether or not Floyd could have taken the punishment Margarito did. It's impossible to say for sure right now but considering Floyd is naturally smaller than Margarito, it's possible that in a p4p sense, Floyds chin is as good or better than Margarito's

 

Floyds chin is iron cast.

Margarito's chin is very very good, don't get me wrong. But Rico has a point, he does not deserve to be mentioned alongside guys like Chuvalo, McCall, Ali etc.

 

Margo took a severe beating in that fight that not many fighters should want to take. I doubt many fighters could take that kind of sustained punishment in that weight class from Mosley at the time. If you eat that many punches from a puncher, then you are asking to be stopped eventually.

No fighter should take as much punishment as Margarito did that night.

 

Not sure why people are comparing Floyd-Mosley to Margarito-Mosley? The two fights were nothing alike. Floyd has a solid chin, that is pretty obvious. But, no one can convince me Floyd could have Mosley tee off on him for 9 rounds and not get KTFO.

 

Someone that has never been down and has recovered to win rounds after he has been rocked has an excellent chin. That's the proof he has a solid chin, there is no proof to the contrary.

I would live to hear from those that say he doesn't have a solid chin, give an example of someone that does.

 

He's shown it's not glass.. that's about it. He simply doesn't take enough shots to be able to say he's got a great chin. How many times does he get caught flush... only time I can think of is Mosely and the punches definately had an impact. If his chin was great he wouldn't have flinched. Margareto didnt waver until about the 65th flush shot... big difference.

 

He's defence is awesome. 9/10.
But the man's chin is no better than his dad's 5/10.
Recover and ring smarts 9/10.

Hatton had him doing a reverse bambi on ice dance in rd1. Ffs.

 

How so? He's never been knocked down, and the Hatton Shot didnt leave him dazed, he lost his balance .

He has an excellent chin.
