    Simple topic.

We all know somebody like Khan was born as bona fide china, that's a fact.

But what about guys with real tough chins that rarely go over in a long career then towards the end of their career their chin is finally cracked,

a good example of this is / was Erik Morales, suffering KOs at the end !

Teddy Atlas did a good piece once where he stated that if you tap a tough wall for years and years eventually it will crack- time to get a new wall or in this case retire a boxer

I appreciate your assertive thoughts relevant to certain fighters

Was Jones always glass or was he cracked over time for instance ?

    regards

RJJ had always a glass cheen. It just took him fighting someone else than a retired police man / bin man / and butchers for ppl and RJJ himself to realize this.

Because ATG's and numerous weight world champions like Hopkins and James Toney were part time bin men/police men etc...

Wait you think Erik Morales has a glass jaw because he was KOed by Pacquaio. Dude come on Pac is a monster at KOing people. Yeah it took some punishment and maybe it wasn't in peak condition but it was far from china. Being KOed once does not mean you have a china chin it means you were KOed once. When this KO comes from someone acknowledged as one of the most powerful punchers at that weight then all it doesn't mean much in terms of your chin status. I mean the people who Foreman and Shavers knocked out were not glass jawed they just came up against a beast of punching power.

SRR had the most amazing chin for this reason......he fought 200 fights and was stopped once only when he quit in his corner due to heat exhaustion while up on points.

Keep in mind his second career was at advancing age and after an already absurdly long career...and he STILL couldn't be KO'd amazing. When people speak of him they are blinded (understandably) by his record, his blazing speed and awesome two hand KO power....but they forget that he was possibly the most un-Ko able guy as well

No his chin wasn't "cracked" by time he was simply KOed by Pac. There is no reason to assume that because he was KOed once his chin is bad. You seem to be acting like he was knocked out by a bum so it must have been caused by prolonged damage. Bull**** his chin is still amazing and he got KOed by Pac because thats what Pac does.

Glen Johnson fought at middleweight for 5 years, James Toney is currently a heavyweight and has fought above super-middleweight for a long portion of his career. Hopkins has also spent long spells higher than 160, and has not KO'd anybody above 160.
