    He's a chump. Demands 50/50 purse split but what's he brought to the table promotion wise? Khan has been pushing all the promotion work to date while Chino's been hiding out in the gym. The come fight night, he'll bring zero additional PPV buys.

    ps. He's been working out at Barry's Gym in LA. Has anyone been to visit? :blurp

    I'm not questing his merit to fight for a world title. I'm questioning his merit for initially demanding 50% of the purse.

    Purse split should be based on revenue generation. I don't see it as being right that someone should initially demand 50% of a purse split and then add minimal promotional effort.

    He probably knows he's not as talented and is favourite to lose so why not ask for as much money as possible? You don't start haggling with someone with the lowest you'd go.

    :thumbsup, these cats need to realize being a good fighter doesn't mean you should automatically get an even split. Guys who sell the show with their personality and bring in PPVs are the ones who get the larger pie piece.

    If you disagree, please feel free to post links to the plethora of promotional work Maidana has contributed to this fight in the last 8 weeks.

    You'll struggle.

    Of course, there's training hard in the gym, but if you're a chump with limited drawing power (and make a lame attempt to promote) then to me it's an insult that this dirty fighter (referring to his last fight) was initially demanding 50%.

    The OP message is correct, Khan has been doing the leg work promoting the fight, Maidana hasn't contributed.

    I doubt a 50/50 split means a 50/50 split, Khan will take the lion's share of this with the PPV income, the reason Khan is doing all the promotional work is probably because it's he who stands to make the most from PPV sales.

    I think it's a lame argument, Maidana has had coverage fighting an exciting match with Ortiz and this alone should merit a 50/50 purse split, with Khan getting additional U.K PPV rights which will net him a very tidy sum.

    Maidana's power punching and his reputation bring a lot to the table in terms of the earning potential of this fight IMO.
