just rewatched his amazing fight with Carbajal (number 1) a very good fight. All i have saw of him is the 3 Carbajal fights and the Sorjatong (sp.) fight. Where does he rank in the grand scheme of teh Light Flyweights? explain this ranking? what was good about him? what was bad?
Chiquita was one of those guys that always seemed like he was just on the cusp of greatness, but right when he was about to cross the threshold, he would suffer an embarrassing loss and would have to claw his way back to the top all over again. That happened first in his shocking upset loss to Pascua, then again in the 1st Carbajal fight, then right after settling matters with Carbajal came his loss to Sorjatoroung. As for his strengths and weakness, he was an aggressive technician, a switch-hitter(if I remember correctly) who could bang with both hands, and he could box fairly well if he had to (as he showed in the 2nd and 3rd Carbajal fights). However, it seemed his chin was just average, and he seemed to lose discipline or even fall apart sometimes when things turned against him.
thabks for that, thats how i thought he was. as for an average chin he took lots and lots of bombs from Carbajal before falling
