I respect the guy for fighting everyone and doing what everyone should be doing. But im often annoyed when he is the opponent cause it feels he is often innthe way of good fights happening. Not his fault but the other boxers dodge each other just to fight him again. Its a miracle he hasnt faced AJ and Wilder yet.
The epitome of the old fashioned slugger getting his paper. Obviously, no way near elite level, but engineered some great opportunities for himself. Possibly could have picked up a title, if he started 5 years earlier, and was around that post Lennox lull. Hopefully he doesn't see the pitfalls mentally down-the-line, though unfortunately I think he already knows.
The Helenius robbery was worst for me. Was a big, relevant fight at the time and would have been his best win in my opinion. If a few results went his way, his résumé would look much better today. Could easily have had wins against Helenius, Whyte and Parker.
At the time, Helenius was unbeaten, European champion. Would have been a very good win at the time. Parker got gifted a belt but I would agree that he had a better career than Helenius.
Iirc Wlad wanted the Haye fight instead, Haye being regarded as much more dangerous, much higher status, much more money etc.
The thing about Chisora is he wouldn't have got many of these fights if he wasn't so easy to rob. His resume is only as strong as it is because he's beatable (one way or another), with 5 losses by contested decision and only 2 KO's (Scott and Takam) against his top 16 opponents. The Parker SD also led to a rematch, just as the Whyte and Pulev SD's did.
This content is protected Dereck turns 40 in December I'd like to see Dereck hang up the gloves he's had a spectacular career he's got nothing else to prove, european champion, two-time aba champion, etc. don't wanna see dereck end up like a james toney
