Many boxing fans overrate past eras and underrate what they see right in front of them, because it's always easy and comforting to believe the past is much better than the present.

But it's not the truth. The truth is much more complex than that....

Nah, that's not the case at all in this instance. The current heavyweight division is embarrassingly bad, and in my opinion the worst of all time. It's not some sort of romance we all have with past era's, this current era is just genuinely awful.

 

Helenius ain't losing this fight. I expect Del Boy to put up a good showing for the first few rounds, and then Helenius will lower the boom. Watch his stoppages of Sam Peter and The White Wolf, the latter of whom fought really well and took it to Helenius.

Helenius closed the show on both occasions in spectacular fashion. This guy is a closer.

There's been more so-called weak eras in the HW division than the opposite. The 1970s were an anomaly.

The best heavies of today would annihilate most of the part-time fighters and full time cabbies and bouncers who littered the heavweight division

He's still only 27, a mere pup when you figure Wlad is 35 and Vitali is 40.
