David Haye seem to have leaked this info and frank is currently not confirming or denying. Franks confirmed chisora himself rejected the miller fight, strange because he was originally signed to fight up before, before miller pulled out. I’m assuming it’s so chisora can push for a Usyk rematch he’d likely get (don’t be surprised when this isn’t chisora’s last fight lol) and Whyte is clearly the easier fight. what do we think of this match? Also Saw Zhang and miller did a friendly face off the other day so hey that might be in talks lol.
Chisora is a 41 year old midget of a heavyweight, who was on a 1-4 skid before his current 3 fight win streak. And he has 13 losses in total. Saying that he is ducking any top 20 heavyweight is simply silly. And besides, Chisora has earned the opportunity to smash Whyte´s head in.
This all has a recycling vibe to it. I'd rather see Chisora stay in his gatekeeper role against someone coming up. One of the best hw gatekeepers there's been.
A monumentally dumb post for several reasons. Chisora getting a rematch with Usyk being the least of them. Calling him a “duck” for not fighting behemoths like Zhang and Miller at this stage of his career is just egregiously insulting. Not to mention, flat out moronic. Id like to see him walk away now with his current faculties intact. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. Life likely not going to be well for him 10-15 yrs down the road. I wish him well.
Fair enough Chisora wants an easier fight and a chance at redemption with a win over Whyte. Chisora is getting on and has been in there with some of the best. He can take lighter touch for his 50th if he wants. Plus its a grudge match that provided a lot of entertainment to the UK market nearly a decade ago.
Chisora has had a very long, rough career with many highs and lows. He doesn't have a belt and isn't obligated to face any major killers at 41 with all this mileage. That being said, a fight with Whyte on paper isn't a bad idea. He can settle the score with a guy whose had his number. I just wish Whyte wasn't coming off a brutal 1st round KO, because it won't mean much of anything if Chisora can pull it off. It won't have any luster and probably won't sell all that much because the loss is fresh in everyone's minds. But if he wins, he'll at least send Whyte to the shadow realm whether it's by KO or decision, it'll be impossible for him to show his face again.
If it was 1-1 then I'd understand but these pointless dead rubber trilogies just set a bad example for the sport. Chisora V Miller or Zhang would be so much better.
Whyte is a completely shot fighter, who was never very good without PEDs. Chisora should have fought Zhang - age is no excuse, Zhang is older than Chisora. No one wants to see Chisora-Whyte III.
The man who's ducked no one, I'll give a pass to in his retirement match, especially in a trilogy that he was arguably robbed of a win in. He deserves a winnable swan song that could be seen as a cherry pick just this once. Even in the dire level of shot that Whyte resides in, he's still levels above Cherry Garcia's final cherry.
These days, Chisora is slower than a sloth, has no defense, poor footwork, may actually have a worse gas tank than Zhang, and is clearly showing signs of all the punishment he has taken over the years. The last thing Chisora needs is to be in the ring with a hard and accurate puncher.
Firstly Chisora at this stage of his career has earned the right to fight anybody he wants ! Secondly the Whyte trilogy makes sense for both fighters ! Thirdly the fight will sell as there is genuine needle between the two of them which always makes for a good fight. Fourthly Chisora was robbed in the first fight and ended up getting knocked out in the second fight when the ref Marcus McDonnell took two points from Chisora which made him change what he was doing,at the time of the KO Chisora was ahead on two of the Judges score cards !
We dont need either man to fight at all, but if they are going to continue then they might as well fight each other.
