Fury had no direction when he fought Cunningham. His trainer was absent and those around him were more focused on having a good time in New York which clearly rubbed off on Fury. Its not hard to outbox a guy when he's holding his hands out in the air. Cunningham has said he saw a different side to Fury when they sparred and gave him high praise for his skills. Losing fights to better guys Fury is fighting doesn't mean he is on the same level. Its unknown how Fury would do against them. I disagree Fury is being protcted. Style wise Haye is the worst match up for him out there and they actively pursued that fight. A fight that was very hard for Haye when you look at it. Haye fought two big guys. Wlad shut him out and he barely got past complete and utter joke Valuev. For those who say Audley- 3 rounds against a guy who was blown out in a round by Price who was demolished twice by crooked backed , old man Thompson. Fury is a hard fight for Haye and anybody who know anything about box knows that.
Protected was probably the wrong word to use, more carefully managed would be a better description. Chisora took any big fight he could get, while Fury has been more carefully managed. For example calling out Price a guy who beat him twice as an amateur then dumping the titles when Price became his mandatory. We will have to wait and see who wins between Haye and Fury.
I wasn't a fan of Fury at the time of the Price incident but he won me over with the skill he showed against Rogan, Maddalone , Kingpin and I believe he's even better know. Getting up after a KD and win by KO is to be commended , not ridiculed. Some ATG's never got up at all.
Dereck is a good strong fighter and actually a pretty nice guy deep down. I saw him once at Starbucks, he's ****ing huge!!!!!!!!! Hope he fights ugly taco boy Chris "I felt like Tyson" Arreola next and beat him till he starts making woman noises.
:huh lets get this straight? you had the fight with Gerber even??? if so, suck a Dick, Manning. secondly, the stoppage was legit. Gerber was hurt and not throwing shots back. he accepted the stoppage with a nod of the head. you're so bitter aren't you? give the man his credit and STFU! *****.
i think that Chisora hits hard enough. if he catches you, you'll know you've been hit. no doubt about it.
Gerber looked like the new version of Peter Mcneely, a complete can. Michael Sprott the senior citizen beat him with German scoring. And Gerber managed to badly hurt Chisora. I wouldn't brag about this. And that is two really quick stoppages in a row.
Chisora is very underrated. I can't see him ever becoming the #1 guy in the division. But I can easily see him becoming a credible and well respected top 10 boxer. Looking at Boxrec's top ten. I could see Chisora beating Stiverne, Arriola, Helenius and Solis.
Oh look someone has sand in their vagina. atsch Bitter, how so? I specifically said I enjoyed the fight and went out of my way to watch it. I said after the first 4 rounds you could have made a case for the score being 2-2 so what. Why does that make you appear pre menstrual? First round was a slow start from Chisora and Gerber had landed jabs at will, probably down to the emotional state Chisora was in. A close round that would easily have gone to Gerber if he was the home fighter. Needless to say the round where Gerber rocked Chisora twice with the two big straight rights was an easy round to score for Gerber too. So there you go after 4 rounds there's an easy case to make the score 2-2 prior to the "TKO round". Gerber threw a big right just prior to the stoppage that missed. It was a typical rubbish British stoppage and ruined a perfectly good fight yet again. Honestly it's at the stage now that if I were a coach bringing my fighter to England from abroad that anytime my fighter got stunned I would considered telling him to take a knee so as to stop the incoming British stoppage. Chisora at home against Wlad Klitschko actually stands a brilliant chance of catching the World title. All he has to do is throw a flurry of punches and even if they're all blocked there would still be a chance of a classic British stoppage.
I thought he looked really crude to be honest. Apart from better physical condition, he hasn't improved at all. A big worry that he was hurt so badly in the 4th - with his crude style he needs that chin to be solid, but it seems it may not be anymore.
It's true he doesn't have big KO power, but there aren't as many heavies that can put the pressure on like Chisora can. He will be in your face for 12 rounds forcing you to work at a pace you are not comfortable with. Most heavies do not have a high output, but they would need to work harder to keep Chisora off them. if he had a little more pop, with his pressure he would break down a lot of good fighters and be a force. A fitter sharper Chisora against Vitali would have been interesting. He's gained some valuable experience with the fights he has had in recent years, so would have learnt a great deal. he is now maturing as a heavy. I think a a plodding Chisora will be easy pickings for Wlad, but a slimmed down, faster, sharper Chisora would be a bit of a nightmare for him. Not saying he can win, but could give him a world of trouble.
