This one really has me torn up. If you asked who wins, I'd be at a loss honestly and now the question is who gets to fight Wladimir Klitschko next... :think Neither fighter is really really or prepared for this kind of challenge, neither fighter is really deserving of the opportunity. Chisora might at least make a good fight of it despite his lackadaisical last outing against Sexton, for the first few rounds I wasn't entire sure Chisora wanted to be in the fight but it turned out to be more contempt and lack of respect for his opponent. Despite his lack of experience at the top level the kid brings game and has good standing in the British scene. Dimitrenko on the other hand has a pretty good resume and has spent a solid amount of time at the Inter-Continental level. He has what appeared to be good wins against above average opponents, though no wins against solid contenders. In fact the one solid contender he faced handled him handedly. Actually that loss is what worries me, it appears to me that Chambers took Dimitrenko's heart completely in that fight and Chambers then went on to embarrass himself against Wladimir Klitschko; considering WK >> EC >> AD I can't imagine a fight between Klitschko and Dimitrenko being all that compelling or competitive. Dimitrenko has had just 1 stay-busy fight since that loss and although he won it doesn't go far enough to assuage any concerns about his mental well-being and his determination to stay at the top of the sport. He also continues to show up at career high weights. I'd prefer Chisora just because I'd like to see what the kid can do, where as I think Dimitrenko gets handled in 2-3 rounds tops. The fight is a no-brainer for Chisora, if he loses he has loads of built in excuses after which he can easily rebuild his career ... assuming losing to Wladimir Klitschko doesn't ruin him mentally. Either way I can't blame Wladimir for taking on either man, it's this or inactivity and I'd rather see him get in there and fight a sparring partner instead of rusting away his prime. Thoughts? :huh
How can you say Chambers took Dimitrenko's heart when Dimitrenko looked better than ever in his last fight for the EBU title? :huh
Is there any concrete evidence that Team Dimitrenko wants this fight? I thought he was going for Sosnowski. Chisora is hardly the best opponent for Wlad but he's a better choice than Tua or Mormeck. Plus fighting Chisora raises Wlad's profile in the UK and puts pressure on Haye. It's pretty hilarious....Haye's silence on the proposed fight is deafening. He can hardly call Chisora a bum if he's hoping to fight him after Fraudley!
I think raising Wlad's profile in the UK is reason #1 to make a fight with Chisora. Axe, Dimitrenko looked great against TBA after a year long lay-off and has announced absolutely nothing since then. This doesn't reek of "I'm Back and I'm Better then Ever".
good question, today Bonte says it's Chisora or Dimitrenko are the top options and yesterday everyone is writing that Sosnowski will be Dimitrenko's mandatory with the deadline for purse agreement is October 28th. Others saying it's Dimitrenko-Sosnowski on the Froch-Abraham card.
personally, i would prefer to see chisora as a champ. but from an unbiased point of view, dmitrenko is a far better option for wlad.
