No way Chisora won that fight. Pulev was controlling the distance and outworking Chisora. Chisora had his moments but he didn't do enough to win most rounds. It was atleast 8-4 or 7-5 for Pulev. Glad I didn't bet on this one though. I knew british robbery was possible and it happened.
How many bodyshots did Pulev land? 0 How many full power bodyshots did Chisora land? lots. Pulev was arm punching trying to score points but Chisora managed to close the distance and land enough bodyshots to discount a lot of the work. Many of Pulev's shots were off gloves and missing the bobbing Chisora. Pulev also took the biggest punches. I counted 3 overhand rights he had no business taking and one decent left hook. If Chisora didn't work the body all night like he did he would have lost on scorecards but in a veteran tactical move he worked it all night even though it didn't really slow Pulev. Pulev willingly walking into dereck sitting on the ropes to try and land scoring pot shots and getting caught in the process shows he knew he had to keep working hard or he'd lose rounds, trying for free shots to win point which Chisora didn't give to him easy. It's like the opposite of how the pundits ignored all of Povetkins bodywork against Whyte in their 1st bout.
Not to mention he did the far cleaner work in most rounds, where as Chisoras was mostly smothered or slapping shots that Pulev largely evaded. I knew Pulev was getting robbed with how hard they were going with this contrived Cinderella-man narrative, and with how biased the commentary was(especially Haye) Typical British boxing.
Close war, could easily have gone either way. Either man would've felt unlucky to lose that. Robberies are when it's clear that one guy won and it isn't given - a close 50/50 bout cannot by definition be a robbery.
Be careful buddy, the guys don’t want to here the truth if you disagree with their scorecards. I had it 116-112 Pulev, I don’t see how Chisora could be given 8 rounds when he was landing the occasional overhand right. Anyway, now we’ll probably see Chisora Whyte III or something like that
The fight was a lot more competitive than I expected but I thought Pulev won 8-4. His work was far cleaner, more consistent and he outlanded Chisora, though there often wasn't enough venom in his shots. Pulev needed to put more of a beating on Chisora to guarantee victory as the away fighter and B-side. There was a contrived narrative that the first fight in Germany (which Hearn and Haye had claimed was actually Bulgaria) was a robbery in Pulev's favour and Chisora has had a few unfortunate decisions in his career, so it's not a shock that he would get the decision this time in a competitive fight. It also gives them an opportunity to sell out another event with Chisora headlining, whereas Pulev represented no value to them. Haye and Bellew were desperate for Chisora to get the decision, partly because of their personal relationships with him but also because Haye demolished Chisora and Bellew demolished Haye twice.
Oh dear lord! EVERY close fight is a "robbery" to boxing fans these days. NO, this was a close fight, with lots of close rounds, that could have been - and was - reasonably scored for either fighter. I personally scored it a draw.
Indeed. Modern boxing fans seem to equate "a decision I disagree with" with "robbery. " EVERY ****ing close fight and we get these kinds of idiotic posts. It's infuriating.
