I think it's a golden chance for Chisora, he might get the shitty part of the contract, but hey, he really hasn't done much yet anyways. Wlad and Vitali are 2 completely different beasts. Vitali has cheen, Wlad, not so much. Wlad has one punch ko power, Vitali likes to break guys down. Beating one doesn't mean you'll beat the other.

In the course of this thread we have really established the following facts:

1) Chisora has not earned a title shot.

2) Chisora will make ten times a much money from this fight as he would normally have made.

3) The price that Chisora has to pay for getting an unearned title shot is limited to a clause.

4) That clause will never take effect.

5) So Chisora is effectively getting something for nothing.

To sum up: those who are complaining about this feel that Chisora should get an undeserved title shot, and are not happy that there should be any concessions made because of this. Even concessions which have next to zero chance of occurring. They want him to get all the benefits that someone who has earned a title shot would get. They feel that boxing is a charity.

Reasonable people say: if the only single concession that Chisora has to make, in order to get the totally undeserved opportunity of a lifetime, is a clause that is next to impossible to come into effect? (And if it did come into effect, would still be a huge opportunity?)
Then he is a very, very lucky man.

It's conclusive. This deal is way too good for Chisora. Those who can't see that simply cannot use logic.

 

It is not to prove a point to Haye or to actually prove a point to anyone.

The reason for the contract is to stop farcical fights like Haye vs Audley, when Haye called out the Klits, gets offered better financial terms than he deserves or would have dreamed of, yet still Haye runs away.

The contract is to stop cowardly behaviour.

Once they saw Haye demonstrating such cowardly behaviour, it occurred to them other fighters might be just as cowardly, hence the restrictive contract.
