WTF does this even mean? If he stood up at 2 he would have fought on. The guy stood up at 9.5, takes nearly a second to stand up straight from the kneeling position. I am not even a professional boxer and i know if you ain't virtually up by 8 you've blown it.

 

Thing is, even though I expected Scott to take this, he never was a big player at HW, and was never gonna be. It's a shame in a way 'cos his level of slickness is rare at HW, but he simply never had the power to cut it at the top of the division. The guys been fighting since 2000, if he was gonna make a splash it woulda been 5 or 6 years ago.

 

First part is true, the second part is not.

If he had beaten Chisora, he would have had a decent chance at a K2 match & a multi-million dollar payday. Probably after one more fight, but heck given Wladdy's recent opponents, one can easily imagine him fighting Scott next. (Had Scott won.)

- Or a fight with Haye, after Haye steamrolls Big Doofus. - And that fight would have generated a lot of $$$ on it's own.


Now Scott is absolutely nothing. A name to be forgotten.

 

i feel sorry for delboy. a slightly questionable but reasonable count is the focus of what looked to be turning out an inarguably legit win. for all his superior skills, scott's lack of power was telling, delboy was starting to turn the tide and walk him down.

delboy is celebrating a decent win, sadly in the face of a bunch of sore yanks shouting 'fix!', this from the nation that gifted evan fields a draw after lewis beat him from pillar to post. in recent months we've had mitchell, price and now scott unveiled as carefully matched pretenders. how long before wilder joins them?

disgusted with the ref who was clearly under the instructions to stop the fight first sign of trouble scott was in..

but scott was also a silly ******* waiting until after a 9 count (cant wrap my head around it)the ref should never be allowed to ref again..scott needs a ****ing smack around the chops..

whats most annoying tho is scott showed how limited chisora is and now he gets to go on and get a decent payday against a bigger name..boxing sux sometimes..

 

I had expected Scott to win on points but when Chisora came in lighter than he has been since Vitali I was not so sure and expected a close fight which is what we got.

Scott made a number of errors in this fight. His first error was to not come in at top shape, this was his highest weight in over 4 years. In all his fights in recent years he usually weighed several lbs lighter. To come in to the biggest fight of your career out of shape is simply not acceptable. His second mistake was to stay on the ropes for too long which led to the KO. The third and most obvious mistake is to only attempt to get up when the ref counts to 9 over you, only giving yourself a second to get to your feet. Idiotic mistake which cost him the fight.

Scott showed he does have real skills in terms of technique he is one of the best fighters at heavyweight. But physically he is very average, looking at his athletic ability he is very ordinary. He has decent enough hand speed but he lacks any power and seemed physically weak compared to Chisora and his stamina and conditioning could be better. He has the skills and technique but he now needs the body of a real athlete.

Chisora showed once again when he is in shape and weighing in the low 240's he is a top contender. He is excellent at cutting off the ring but is too often too inactive to capitalise on it and has to be in top shape if he is to maximise his output to win fights.

 

with how the fight ended in mind, everything else is - to me - of absolutely no importance.

The ref started the count at 4 and scott was up before 10, wasnt even wobbly or anything. A complete disaster, that an incompetent british ref, who lacked any sort of commom sense, got the job. I guess that i why the british shithead W.arren, hired him in the first place

 

You ain't the first to say about the count starting at 4 or 5, but just to clarify, this is absolutely standard practice.

The ref picks up the timing from the time-keeper, who starts counting when the fighter touches the canvas. These are the rules.

I would tend to agree that Scott beat the count and shoulda been allowed to continue, however.

 

scott did not get up at 9..he started to get up at 9 which means he would have reached his feet at 10 which means good bye...but the ref was clearly on the take..did nothing but warn scott and was clearly told to stop the fight when he got the first chance..****ing joke..ref was a clown..but scott didnt shine himself in glory either..get up at 8 you idiot

 

Well, yeah, he might have lined himself up for a title fight. What I meant though was more that I never saw him as having success even against the second tier (behind the Ks) at HW. Chisora was about as far as he was gonna get in terms of ability.

Fair point though, he coulda missed out on a decent payday, and at least the opportunity to be a name in the post Klitschko world - though at 32 already, even that is doubtful.
