So it's about 2 hours prior to the Povetkin-Huck fight last night at the Porsche Arena, and I'm chilling with my friends, and all of a sudden I hear massive booing from the normally dead-quiet Germans. Turns out Dereck Chisora was walking to ringside to enjoy the night's fights. He had a small entourage, only about 3 guys. He got up a few times between some of the undercard fights that ended early, and each time the crowd booed him hardcore. He took it in stride, smiled and moved about his business. He even gave out a few autographs and posed for some pix! The man was a gentlemen last night. Good for him. Also saw Arthur Abraham, who was warmly received by the public, as well as Denis Boytsov. Oh, and the main event was electric! Fight was so exciting that even the Germans were cheering, trying to drown out the always loud Russians. I hope there's a rematch, and I'll attend again.
Nic pic. I think he was trying to avoid all the spit and food people were throwing at him! But I give him credit for coming back to Germany so soon after enraging the entire nation.
Yeah, and one of his guys was really tall, but skinny as hell, so I know he wasn't gonna do much to defend his boss!
You might be on to something, cuz he was causing NO problems in Stuttgart last night. He did spend a good deal of time texting on his cell phone.
I read through the round by round this morning. Can't believe I missed this one. Sounded like a cracking event
