I agree the card tonight was poor due to the drop outs but next weeks card in Liverpool is decent plus all the big fights coming up from America more then make it value for money for £10.

TBH from what i saw it looked like he was weathering a small storm. He didn't look badly hurt just covering up and taking a few shots but nothing meaty or really outstanding and he didn't stagger or dip.

From time to time you see fighters turn their backs when things get messy etc. So i thought that's what he was doing.

The camera angle that shows his face shows he was hurt and out of it. I think if he had his hands up and facing Chisora he possibly could of went on but he didn't react to punches or defend himself so i suppose ref felt he backed down.

I will need to see it again but atm i can't blame referee to much..

There's no doubt Pala was hurt and he turned his back on the action for that reason which is the universal sign of not quitting and not wanting to fight any longer.

Didn't see the stoppage controversial or quick in any way, just unsatisfactory as it was a decent fight.

As usual though the idiot yanks on this forum are acting like it's some big conspiracy even though most of them don't actually know the rules of boxing.

I don't think the ref had a choice to be honest. I've watched it back numerous times and it looked like Pala had either no idea what was happening or he'd given up. It was his own fault for dropping his hands and facing the wrong way. He was motionless.

What time is Bellew due in the ring?

Someone should tell Sky, the programme finishes at 5.30am. Unless they think Bellew is getting blasted out of there

    Agree with you.

The HBO coverage starts at 10.15pm ET which is 3.15am UK time with the first fight between Kovalev-Sillakh starting around 3.30am so expect Adonis vs Bellew around 4.15/4.30am.

I'm thinking Sillakh might shock a few people.

    Agreed.

Sillakh was my hot tip to be the next big thing at Light Heavy.

Unfortunately he got caught against Grachev whilst he was easily winning the fight and was on auto-pilot.

If he focuses 100% tonight and uses his superior boxing skills i could see Ismail win by TKO or points but at same time he could get blown out inside the first 3 rds.

Silakh is class but i was told he looked awful in his last fight. Kovalev has to take the confidence from him early enough otherwise he could be in for a long night.

Silakh will cause him problems but it's whether he can hold out. Silakh's last chance and only chance i don't see him having other chances unless he works way into mandatory position.

He's got to go get it tonight. Kovalev does leave himself open as he commits to punches so we shall see. I'm looking forward to it..

Going for Bellew TKO Round 11. Stevenson said after beating Cloud ''i'm tired now, going to go on holiday and see you guys in new year'' well two months later he's fighting again lol. Forced to fight and with the local press getting at him about being a pimp and 3 camps in 9 months i fancy Bellew to drain him and take him out in championship rounds.

I don't believe Stevenson is a elite world class operator. He's world class but only a year ago he was facing likes of Don George and not looking great.

Bellew to utilize the quality jab he has and hook off it and sneak right hands in behind. Got to edge forward behind a high guard and get foot on outside of Stevenson's lead foot and keep it a patient and economical fight.

I think he can do it. He's seasoned enough now and it's really now or never..

    WAR Bellew!

    Good breakdown.

The thing is unlike Cleverley who has no real pop, Sillakh can really crack so Kovalev could well be caught with a big shot coming in.

The smart way to fight Kovalev is to use his agression against him and make him pay, now Kovelev uses educated aggression so it isn't wild swing for the fences type but he still leaves himself very square on and to a Pure boxer like Sillakh it will be quite easy to counter him especially with his pin point accurate jab.

I expect Kovalev's face to look like it's been through a meat grinder by the end of the fight.

Sillakh is legit but im not sure about his chin, in the Grachev fight he didnt even get hit that hard but retreated straight back to the corner, I think Kovalev walks through him

Yeah he just got careless though.

If I was still a betting man I would have had a crack at the Sillakh bellew double/
