I'm not sure about Potwash, but some still believe that Chisora won that. For me, it is unfathomable how it could be viewed that way.
That was an 8-4 fight Derek didn't win a round after his inital flurry and once he has been sussed out
If this was a normal Saturday night card it would be tolerable but the fact they're charging £20 is just outrageous. Jonas's reward for a brilliant fight against Harper is to step up in weight to be fed to Taylor for a cheap amateur narrative. Why hasn't she got the rematch against Harper?? We get to see Eubank Junior treading water at 31. We've seen what happens when he gets put in with someone who's not up at his level. They get seriously hurt. He should be in World title eliminators or whatever not fighting someone the standard of Morrison. We get to see Bivol fighting a domestic level opponent. It's not even going to be competitive. Then we get to see Chisora selling his name for Parker's resume for a straight forward points win. I've just gone on paddypower and I can get 1.16/1 for Parker, Tennyson, Taylor, Eubank and Bivol all to win. That is shocking odds for a 5 fight accumulator.
Chisora is putting the effort in nowadays - years too late though. He's tough and durable but a very limited fighter who will give Parker a hard time in spells but if Parker is worth anything he will work him out easy enough. Wouldn't agree that Whyte is way above Chisoras level, theres not a lot in it and Chisora won the first fight in my opinion.
Poor card. I’m only interested in the main event and the bivol fight and even those aren’t anything special.
A selection of comments from the Matchroom LinkedIn post about the fight: “A proper card” “Great card. BOOM. War Chisora” “Good card” “Definitely watching this, can’t wait!” “War Chisora and Taylor v Jonas. Cannot wait to see these fights, not to mention a certain Mr Hatton role on the day we take over Vegas for a Hatton fight Again!” “Amazing card” It’s easy money for Hearn and Chisora. Just another night under the lights for Chisora pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes and leaving through the backdoor with his loot. Haye carrying the leftovers in his well-worn loot sack.
Chisora v Parker has got stinker written all over it.two barely top 10 half hearted heavyweights going at it here. Taylor v jonas.i like this fight tbh there's something on the line at least and the girls will put a shift in. Bivol v Richards.mismatch, hopefully it's over quick for Richards he is way out of his depth here. Eubank v Morrison.Farce.i knew the Eubanks would worm their way back to sky. All in all its gash.if there was a better headline fight I probably would have bit the bullet and paid but chisora Parker is an offence to mankind and Eubank getting the chance to commit manslaughter live is not something I'll be paying for.
But don't forget the favourite matchroom narrative - 'Chisora is a tough nights work for any heavyweight'. That is of course apart from all the heavyweights who have beaten him quite easily.
The Whyte fights aside I don't think Chisora ever looked like he was going to beat any of his other opponents that he's lost too, the Pulev and Kabayel fights stand out to me as ones he looked fairly hopeless in. He's fine to a certain level but past that he's never ever done anything.
Chisora has been on a good run because he's getting away with a lot of the work he wouldn't have been able to as an away fighter. Both the Pulev and Kabayel fights he was broken up quickly any time he tried to hit and hold if you compare that to how lenient the referees were for him in his most recent couple of fights that can be a key difference maybe? Still he's hard work for anybody on his day.
