We have a few decent fighters. Mccloskey, Lee, frampton, casey aint bad either. Ormond and Kavanagh are decent up and comers. Brian magee is still there also.

I would genuinely rate our amateur talent over Englands by a good bit.

Hes a good pospect no doubt, but he doesnt deseve all the hype hes getting. He has fought no notable opponents in the am's or pro. Will defo be keeping an eye out for him though.

Chisora's performance against Helenius is giving his fans a false sense of hope. We all know now, that Helenius was damaged goods. My money is on Vitali by 7th rnd TKO.

I think in hindsight everyone's gonna look at this DelBoy vs Vitali fight as a mismatch.

Let's look at the event leading up this bout.

In mid 2010 we had two young UK prospects working their way through the ranks. Chisora and Fury and of course you had the WBA paper champ Haye.

K2 wanted Haye so badly in mid2010 that they scoured the rankings looking for ANY opponent who would fight them soas to lure Haye into the fight.
Obviously Fury wasn't ready, nor was DelBoy or for that matter ANYONE TBH, and Wlad settled for Chisora in his attempt to get Haye.

To me it was never in doubt, but a pulled muscle saved DelBoy from a beating and Wlad from embarrassment. Dec2010
rescheduled to Mar 2011, the Delboy Wlad fight lured Haye into talks. Wlad being a man of his word was looking to give Derek his payday, but Haye interfered and we finally got Haye Wlad. July 2010

Delboy, obviously depressed at his million $$$ loss, hits the bottle and burger king and takes a fight with Fury. He gasses after a few short rounds and Fury survives and wins. Let's remember that K2 was looking for a fight with the winner after promising DelBoy his fight. Aug(?)2011

Fury fights bums, not ready for K2. K2 looking for Dimitrenko to come along, but he is exposed by Sprott, ducks Helenius and DelBoy gets a shot at redemption after Fury ducks the Fin.

Now, here's where hindsight burns this fight.......Nov 2011.....Chisora unwittingly hits the lottery. Helenius sustains a potentially career altering injury known to almost noone but him. Having tons of heart(or stupidity) he shows up to fight for the vacant title. DelBoy shows up in GREAT shape and goes hard on the broken Fin for 12 rounds. The K2 see this and think, now there's the young slugger we proposed to last yr.....he won the fight, let's pay the man. Wlad ties up with Mormeck, Vitali, again probably looking to draw Haye into the picture, proposes DelBoy getting a shot.

BUT.....the move didn't lure Haye to the table, and NOW, the proof has come out about Helenius holding his own with one arm vs Chisora.

When Vitali KOs DelBoy next month......WHAT DOES HE GAIN? :think

What's he lose? Oh, just about 6 months of his final 18 mos of his HW reign.:shock:
